Ok, see if this helps, kinda sounds like the pieces you found. I googled "game pieces made to resemble a lug nut, features basket ball, car racing and the olympic symbol". This is what I found.

"Sporting event logo matching/memory game
I found several two-sided octagonal shaped metal "game" pieces. They all have a generic logo on one side and a sporting event on the other - Olympic Rings, World Cup spelled out, Soccer or netball, vintage roadster racing car. They are hollow and look like a hex nut with engraved brass or bronze logos on each end. I can send photos. I can not find anything about these. They were found metal detecting in Texas. Thanks,Daryl "

Maybe you could contact this fella and ask him what it is called. (or not, lol). Just my 2 cents and part of my last brain cell, Maggie
Seems we've gone full circle with this one.

I think finding a picture of copper plated or brass Gongii stones would seal the deal for me.

same here, I'm close to calling it done now.

this is like a bad reoccurring dream ;D

Hey guy's and gal's,

Every time I check this thread, someone is using the term "Hexagon", referring to the mystery items found by Piggman1. If we are going to be good detector's, like Sherlock Holmes for example, we must be good communicator's....right ? ;) So, let's remember to use the correct term. The mystery items have 8 sides. An 8-sided polygon is called an "Octagon", not a Hexagon. I know this has been covered before, but deserves repeating.

Todd

every time i read it, its printing stamps or tire valves.

Just when you thought this topic was over. Just when you thought I had dissappeared. Just when you thought there was no further to go.......Well, I'M BACK!!! And guess what? I just found 2 more of these!
To make the mystery even worse, they were found in a different field. One has the swimmer on it but is missing the othe end, which actually proves they are hollow. The other one has the race car, but on the othe end is a totally new image I can't make out untill I clean them up, but I know it is different than all the other images. I will post the cleaned up pics tonight or in the morning. This field has produced 14 sterling rings so far along with some other unusual finds. Here are the rough pics. I'm back to haunt you more!

There is no way to push or screw these into anything, or anything to be pushed or screwed into them. They are like dice to give an example. Each one is a seperate and complete piece.

way to go piggman, stir it up again, i have been waiting for 2 months for a new post on those things. i have no idea what they are except something to drive everyone nuts- :BangHead:

Yes, I realize that. What I am trying to ask is could it be possible for these dice like pieces, to be held in place on the shoe, by pushing into the black rubber under the shoe. The black rubber would have the same 8-sided shape, in my hypothesis. If there was a way to hold these to the shoe bottom; it would all make sense, being found on a football field. :icon_scratch: Maybe thats why they were lost...a very poor design. Am I reaching? :D

I would have to say that it is "possible", but highly unlikely. Why would the different images be on both sides?

I just checked on the cleaning process. I was mistaken on the one I said was the swimmer. It turns out to be the one with someone shooting hoops. I still can't make out what is on the other one with the race car. The other one that was found last year with the race car didn't have the other end, so we may be about to find out what symbol that was on it. Will have to wait untill in the morning to find out when it has cleaned up a little more.

OK, the cleaning is done, and I still can't make out that one symbol. So here are the pics of them cleaned up along with pics of the whole group. The pics show the obverse and reverse of all of them to show the different symbols. Two are missing end caps. The symbol on the obverse of the one with the race car is the symbol I can't make out. Maybe one of you can.

I can't say no, but I've been looking at it under magnification trying to figure it out, and I don't think it does.
There seems to be more to the symbol that may have corroded away. I've looked at it from every angle and still draw a blank.

well it does bring new life to it now don't it...hmmmm

i just spent the last four hours reading this thread, thinking somebodys gonna find the proof any second.... >:( i havent found any of those down here in san antonio but we do have a lot of koreans living here. tomorrow i will post the pics in my shop and give a free shirt to anybody that can prove what these are!
