not too sure about this one

If they put them together, you can take them apart. They are just damaged in the process.

If they show up on Ebay Prof, I don't want to get into a bidding war with you...lol.

Yes, I saw those. I was referring to a set like pigman has been finding. I would buy them just so I could plant them for a future detectorist to find. Let them drive someone else just as nutty as they have us.

I have sent the seller pics and asked for close up pics back. The name of this game is Kongi, or Gang gi. I don't think the mystery is near over yet. The race car still don't fit. The World Cup was held in Korea in 2002. I don't think the Olympics were.

You have to keep in mind that the ones in the ad are a modern day version of the game. The game pieces have been everything from rocks to glass in the past, to these plastic ones now. We don't even know if they have a design on the end caps. We have yet to see any PROOF of metal ones, much less sports related. And, we don't know for sure how many sides these have. I am waiting for an answer from the seller.

Star.webp Way to go, Tony! Star.webp
I'd say the resemblance is more than close enough to call this mystery solved!

I agree, they look pretty convincing. Call me hardheaded, but where are some other pics of these things besides the plastic version shown? Who is to say that this is how this one company decided to make these? Just because the shape is the same on this modern plastic one doesn't prove anything except they are the same shape.

Here's a similar game JUNGI

Jangi: This game is not only a korean game. It is played in other countries of asia such as Japan and China. It is very similar to Chess. There are two sides, both have a king. Many of the pieces even have the same moves, except that they move along the lines instead of the tiles like in chess. Unlike Chess, it is played with little octagonal pieces with a Chinese character on each one which indicates which piece it is. Some pieces are bigger than others and the king is the biggest. If you like Chess, I'm sure you'd like this.
Jangi-Go here if you want to download Jangi.

Instead of Symbols, perhaps the car, balls, etc.

Hi piggman1

I think the shown pieces are so similar, that you´ll soon have to pay the 20 !! ;D

Finally the mystery seems to be solved ...... kind of sad too..... was fun !!! :D

I'm telling ya, you're speaking too quick. There is no proof except for the shape, and they are made of plastic.

That's right, if you have a 1" ball of lead and a 1" ball of gold, the only thing that makes them the same is the shape. They are still totally different things used for totally different reasons. Just because they are balls does not make them the same.

I'm with ya piggman... i want to see a set like yours
