:hello2: Congrats! Definitely looks to be a 16 or a var.1. 17! Probably AG tho cuz of the missing date! , , Even so, you have about $150 worth
of silver there. (assuming there are no good dates!) Nice days work!! :icon_thumleft: Buscadero

It weighs 199 Grams= 7.107 Ounces= $204.26

Nice score on the silver :icon_thumright:
31.1034768 grams in one troy ounce

You must be on cloud 9, I know I would be! :headbang: :headbang: grats on an amazing find!! :hello2:

Fabulous! There are subtle differences (other than date) between the 1916 and 17 SLQ (Type I). Someone posted a link to a site that describes them a few years ago, but I wouldn't know where to start looking for it. If you have a 16, even without a date, it's a great find. The rest is bonus!

four years of hunting and i haven't found my first cashe yet. I've found plenty of pocket spills....just not the cashe. congrats.

i got a some what of a cache went to the bank and the lady at the counter helped me out i asked her if she had any of the new national park 25c .she said nope how about any gold dollars or new pennies nope.she asked if i wanted some of the bigger dollar type coins .i heard the clink about 18-20 times and i said how many she said 20 i bought them all 7 1972s, 7 1974s and 6 1776-1976 silver dollars i know they arent really all sliver that is just what i call them . she said last month she found a morgan cc i started to ask she said she payed for it and it is in her lock box at home it looks brand new she said and it isnt for sale . i tryed

:notworthy: WOW!!...little brother you sure know how to keep the rest of us on our toes. I've never challenged any of my overloads. I just move on away from them but, I will start digging them from now on. CONGRADULATIONS!!!!

Great Find and story!
the SLQ is definitely 16 or 17.
I can't see a date from your pix, but that reverse is type 1 only those years.
I'd definitely research it some more, a type called 'Full head' as opposed to 'flat head' for 1916 is value 150-400 % more.
congrats!
& another vote from me :hello2:

I'll vote BANNER on this 'un! My first Banner Vote. This is more in line with caches I'm familiar with, some poor Joe or Julie stashing away the little extra cash they had.

Nice find.....but the sad thing is...no "before the fact" pics. People on here like to see dirt!! they like to see the hole, the tree,
the lid...etc..etc..and 16" down? I kinda doubt it would give an overload.....nice coins though, as for me? im the kind of guy who needs to see the smoking gun.
good luck and congrats,
Pro-

True, but true ::)

Excellent!!!!

I think I'm moving to Delaware.

Great work Tony.
