I hope I get the chance to find a gold coin.......heck.....Im still waiting on a gold ring. ::)

JJ, congrats on the find and sorry to hear about your copper story. If you want the stuff that come with the bar cent, I still have it, but if you want the bar cent back it'll cost ya.

A hard lesson shared with everybody to help them out - thats really noble and nice of you wolfe
99% of people i know - never admit to anything, let alone - sharing a story like that to help others-
i always felt this way - but it never hurts to get a reminder - its not life or death - but if you are in this hobby - its something to think about - 8) LBP

Just wanted to add my congrats and tell you that I have been detecting with some form of metal detector since about 1953-54 ( made my first one from Popular Mechnics Magazine) and have yet to find a gold coin, been in the group when one was found, My best was probably a Flying Eagle 3 cent although it was in bad shape. Keep it up, they say the second one is easier!
 

Thanks again everyone, I'm still looking for the next one!

Am going to be doing an 1800s Stage Coach Stop that was a saloon & hotel that has never seen the likes of a detector (according to the current owner, and it been in the same family for the past 50+ yrs bought from the original family that had it over a 100 yrs), their doing a restoration on it, and I'll be starting this weekend,

will keep you posted as it starts & progresses, it's going to be a good one!

Thats what it's all about, thats why we dig the holes. Man you must be on Cloud nine, I can't imagine how you feel. I get excited over a Mercury dime. If I dug a Gold Coin, there would be a S--T eating grin on my face for Months.
