Yeah, I probably got some dirty looks. I just ignore them. Honestly, I feel bad for some of the people living in those conditions, but the truth is that a lot of people are their own worst enemies. I've lived on both sides of the tracks in my life, so I'm speaking from experience. I honestly forgot how much I hate bad neighborhoods. It's just so annoying that nothing goes smoothly there. Whether it's going to the bank, buying a pie, or even driving on the street. (I totally forgot that I saw a guy driving a motorcycle 35 mph on the sidewalk today).

Hunting the hood rocks. I have gotten some sweet scores out of there. People are more likely to turn in old stuff that their parents and grandparents had saved to score whatever. Lots of good stuff south of 8mile

I don't doubt that there are good scores to be had. For me, I don't think it's worth the aggravation and time that it takes. In the time it took me to hit 5 banks down there today, I could have easily hit 25+ banks in the suburbs. Honestly, I've only found teller tray finds in a specific type of area. I've never found silver halves in a teller tray in really poor areas, really rich areas, in a city, or in a really rural area. I always find it in suburban middle class areas. I tried the advice I read on here about finding areas with a much older population and all I've found in those areas is that they are flooded with other hunters.
 

Searched two boxes of quarters and two boxes of dimes today. Total take from the boxes: 1x1948 roosie

While I was dumping at TD, they had to do a bag change. On the top of the counter when they roll it out, there is a little indentation where the tellers usually put stuff that has fallen under the machine, etc. I noticed there was a silver dime sitting there along with a bunch of other beat up clad and funny money. The teller was being nasty from the get go, so I picked the silver up and asked the teller if I could buy it for a dime. She said: "oh, those aren't even the banks, we have to send them back". Before she could say another word, I grabbed a dime out of the hopper and said: "see it's a dime for a dime" and put the clad one down on the tray and put the silver in my pocket. She finally said: "whatever, ok".

I definitely didn't make a friend today and I feel a little bad about being forceful, but if you really think about it those coins belong to some customer, not the bank or the armored car service, or the company that services the machine. So I ended up with my first reject silver, but not in the conventional way and I definitely had to fight for it.
 

Nice. I wouldn't of taken her guff either. I'd have said that it was your dime. Since you were dumping dimes.

Yeah, I'm usually very protective of anything that could have come from my dump, but this section of the machine is where they put stuff that ends up in random places. It would have been impossible for my coins to get there. Still, she was just being nasty, so I was having none of it. She should learn to be nicer to customers. Their coin counter needs a bag change after every $100 in halves. I'm tempted to bring her $5k in halves to give her a real reason to be unhappy.

Do it! Lol. Whenever i go to a td bank I've never been to, I'll bring a larger amount of coins because the tellers don't know me. And if I go to a bank where the tellers know me, if they are nasty or just rude, they will get more than usual haha. I'm probably one of the nicest CRHers you'll meet, but when it comes to nasty or rude tellers i can play hard ball too.

Thanks. Good luck to you too. Yeah, this bank is just far enough from my house where they aren't a frequent stop, so I have no problem dumping on them heavy.
 

I'm busy this week with life stuff, so I only have 4 half boxes ordered. I picked up my first two boxes today:

Box 1: Skunk
Box 2: 1x1964, 1x1966, 1x1967

Glad to see some silver today.

Box 2: Skunk

I have one more piece of silver than I did yesterday, so it's all good.

Thanks. My week ended on a down note. Friday's half boxes were both skunks. We caught a bunch of tuna, fluke, and mahi this weekend though, so that was fun.

I hope the silver starts flowing for both of us next week.
 

Catch up on the last few hunts:
5/17: two boxes of halves. Both skunks
5/20: $100 MWR dimes (banks couldn't spare a box) Skunk
Yesterday: bank forgot to order my halves
Today: 2 boxes of Halves. Both skunks

Not so good lately. I should have four boxes of halves to pick up tomorrow, I hope to get a silver or two. In the meantime, here are a couple pictures of some of the catch from last weekend:

Picked up first two half boxes of the day: Both skunks. That puts my half skunk streak at 6 boxes. I have found zero silver this week. I think that is the first time that has happened since I started hunting back in February. I'm going to see if I can find something later on today.
