V,
I am Jim Hatts best friend and long time partner. Jim past all his info on to me just before he left us... So most my stuff is on DUSA under the Silent Hunter to keep Jim's dream alive. Double-Jack is filming A project called the Jim Hatt dream project and that is going to be interesting when complete. Ok V now I have shared my finds with you. I have 35,000 views on just one of my stories, and have countless photos of my finds. Keep hanging with the book club! It's funny but Joe has friends that are my good friends. I will ask around about you tonight my new friend, who knows maybe we will meet one day.

Not just your average "hole in the ground" or old mine in those photos.
And certainly lends some reality to the stories of such places in the mountains.
Keep it coming guys....so we can all share in your adventure !!

Joe:
A find of such a hilt, likely from a souvenir of the European theater of WW2,shouldn't raise eyebrows too far. Many vets who wound up exploring and working the sups brought back similar mementos and it's possible that one of them used the dagger for a job it wasn't really designed for. It's likely that the old holster/stock for the Browning 9mm, which I found in Tortilla Canyon near Peter's Canyon also belonged to some prospector of the same period.
As you probably know already, books and movies are easier said than done.
But the photos are a good beginning, and illustrate the stories far better than excuses for not having any.

El Bayo is the type of searcher that actually puts miles on his boots and isn't too chicken to dive the holes that it absolutely takes to even make these amazing pictures. Arguing and debating about treasure hunting online is fun and informative, but nothing beats hitting the dirt and seeing these things with your own eyes. It's an irreplaceable feeling. Many people are quick to say what they would or would not do...but how could they possibly know if they are not out there putting themselves to the test like El Bayo or Double-Jack as a group does. It's all conjecture and nothing more. Keep reading your books fellas, lol! To all the naysayers.....I can't wait to see pictures of your staircase... but I know that day will probably never come.
Badger, Double-Jack!
