Playing catch-up again. Been down with bronchitis. Finally went to ER Friday about midnight. Worst I've ever had it. Thought I would pass out from no oxygen several times before I got there. Some better, but far from out of the woods yet. On steroids, antibiotics, oxygen, and several inhalers. Really sucks!
I blame me, and no one else. No one forced me to smoke for 40 years. I thought when I quit in 2000, I'd be ok; was for a long time. Then about 2008 diagnosed with COPD. Down hill from there.
If anyone out there thinks quitting smoking will give you complete freedom from the effects later in life, get it out of your head!! I know a lot of people smoked the same number of years that I did, started at the same age, quit at the same age, and are still in great shape. Didn't happen for me. Please wise up!!!
