Do the Stone Tablets lead to somewhere OTHER than the Superstition Mtns?

Frank,

I can't honestly remember where I originally got that pic from, but it was many years ago. It was supposedly taken in about 1961, when a Mexican was trying to sell them to some corporation (I think the name was The Alpha Corp or something like that). I have had it on my website since about 2007:

The Jesuits

The silver crosses are very similar to one found at Victorio Peak I also have pics of at home.

sgtfda, no I don't have any, but back in the 1970's I saw some that were found around govt wells, they were about two and a half feet long, and about one inch around, there were six cactus bars,
and some silver buttons, they were all wrapped in this oily looking leather. the person that had them said that he thought they were hidden around late 1800's. I saw the same person camped at govt wells about two years later but he had not found anything else, seemed to me he thought that there might be more hidden there that's all the info I ever got from this guy,he would never say how he thought they were hidden there or give a story on the same, did you ever here of anything around there. np:cat:

Gollum, who found the silver crosses at vp, and did anyone witness this find.np:cat:

I don't know exactly who found it (only one), but they were associated with Doc or Ova. I don't even know when it was found. I don't have any reason to doubt their story, but I will ask someone that might know.

Gollum, the one I was thinking about was either silver or gold, the one with keno on it was the one I was thinking about, thanks. np:cat:

Do you mean this one:

1697 was the year of the 2nd significant Pima revolt (after 1690) that resulted in the burning down of the San Ignacio Cabórica mission in the Magdalena River Valley. The mission of course was founded by Kino. After the revolt, it was rebuilt by Fr. Campos.

1707 is, I think, the first significant showdown between the Spaniards and Jesuits that nearly resulted in the removal of the Jesuits from the Pimera Alta when the Jesuit Provincial threatened to remove all of their fathers if damaging remarks were not withdrawn by the Spaniards who accused the Jesuits of taking the best land, retaining Indian labor, and monopolizing the trade system, and refusing to give Spaniards proper burials, to name a few "sins."

EDIT: I think my interpretation of 1707 is a reach.. there must have been some revolt or persecution that I'm not immediately aware of. There seems to be a common pattern- 1690, 1695 (Saeta), 1697 (Kino), and 1751 that appear on various artifacts associated with the Pimeria Alta.

Carl Boderick silver bar.jpg

Carl Broderick found a silver bar in the Government Wells area near the Lewis claims. Jim Hatt talked about it a few times on Desert USA.

40 -50 years ago a bar was found by a mine caretaker in a mountain stream about 10 miles me of Florence. He spent the rest of his life looking for more. It was Spanish.

do the stone maps lead to somewhere OTHER than the superstitions? thats a very good question. i have only been twisting and turning them to fit into different areas for say maybe a year.along the way i believe without a doubt i have found many of the spots they do NOT lead to.but that is not the point of this post.
i can honestly say that my wife thinks i am nuts. she wont even listen to my ideas about the maps. wont look at the google layouts i put in front of her.why,why,...i need to share the spot with someone in the family..so my question is...how does everyone else here get their spouse to listen to their interpretations of the maps over and over again?or did ya give up trying to explain things to the wives along time ago?or are they just very understanding? i know i have always come back empty handed, but its not from a lack of looking or trying to figure things out...
as a matter of fact a little light came on today and i may have to check out yet another spot tomorrow.. i have the same gut feeling something is gonna be there..does all this sound familiar to anyone else? or are most divorced cause of the hobby/quest? ha ha

It helps if your wife is also a treasure hunter. I would highly recommend trying to get her interested in it, maybe a little prospecting trip which should be to a spot where you are pretty certain that you will get at least a little gold. Once she is hooked however, you will have to listen to her interpretations of treasure maps, satellite images etc out of fairness, not just a one-way type of deal!

On the other hand, she may well get even a worse case of the 'fever' than you have, in which case she will be dragging you to the Superstitions, various remote and wild places etc at every opportunity, ordering dozens of treasure books, maps etc. Be careful what you wish for! <And don't tell my wife that I said this! haha :laughing7:>

If you just want to float some ideas, please do, and please don't take it as an insult if some of us don't agree about how to interpret things, treasure hunters rarely agree on anything other than a common love of treasure hunting!

My wife likes sitting on the patio picking the gold nuggets out of the cons. So in my case it was seeing all the gold. One problem. I give her half the gold then she makes me buy it back from her. She could care less about the maps and I don't really think about them that much. My solution produces gold so that's that.

Gollum, that is not it. I was talking about a cross that was found at vp with keno on it. thanks np:cat:

...so my question is...how does everyone else here get their spouse to listen to their interpretations of the maps over and over again?...

1. Make sure you don't quit your job and start missing mortgage payments.
2. Tell her, "Some day this might make us rich."
3. Don't forget to spend quality time with her between your manic TH interludes.

If you can pull off these items, it doesn't matter if she understands what you're doing. Besides, chances are she has her own interests.

Cubfan, the name sounds familiar, was he a local, and do you know if there were any markers on the bar. thanks .np:cat:

We're not allowed to post links to other forums here, but if you go to the Desert USA forum section, click on search and type in Broderick it will take you to a thread where Jim talks just a little bit about that bar including a pencil rubbing of it - the marks identify it as having some from a U.S. refinery. The suspicion is that it may have been lost or buried during a robbery attempt. I don't know anything more about it or Carl than what Jim Hatt talks about on that thread.

Howdy Horsey,

I would say that according to Gollom, you should not listen to your wife, but rather watch how she reacts. Yeah that's it. Let me see if I have this theory together. She may ask you how you believe the treasure to be North of Del Rio, or where ever you may think it is, looking interested, and telling you how special you are. Don't fall for it if she asks for copies, she may be gathering evidence on you to send you to the cuckoo's nest. This however won't be so bad, because there may be other treasure hunters there willing to see your theory.

If your theory is right, she will see it right away, and you will be treated as a King. She will not say much, but the massages, breakfast in bed, and all the other comforts will let you know.:notworthy::laughing7:
