I figure the few months wait for the hardware is to ensure all the distributors get their supply. Just an assumption on my part.

Actually, they found a software issue with the XP pinpointer communication interface between it and the detector just days before the rally. The decision to postpone was to insure the product fully met XP standards before entering the market. Hopefully product will be released in time for Christmas.

Guys are being played in the middle of corporate tit-for-tat.

Some shops (UK, AU) have updated their website and are allowing pre orders now. They state that they were contacted by XP, who are shipping pin pointers for them to familiarize themselves with. Just reporting what I've seen.

This Australian distributor is officially taking orders and processing payments. They will be shipping when they get them from XP. Note, this is Australian dollars.

And, if you'll go to the Google Play Store on your Android phone, you can get this app that was released Jan. 10 that was made by XP ahead of the official release. It even communicates with the new coils and can automatically log finds as you pass the coil over them. It doesn't seem to work with the standard coils though. I've tried. Check it out.

Going to a Deus bootcamp at Gettysburg with Andy Sabisch himself in March. Hopefully, he''l have some news on when the US distributors are going to get them or even (fingers crossed) will have some pinpointers with him since he is also a hardware distributer.

Vague release date. 60 day window? How promising. Why not "shipping on 2/14/17" for example?

I've had "go detect" app installed for about one year. (Tect-o-trac is better application, BTW.) And so what evidence is this of a release date? What an odd product release method.

Nothing official out of XP? Do they always do viral product announcements? Perhaps then when the ball is dropped they have plausible deniability? "we never gave a release date".
