deus update sept 18th

That flyer could have been cleverly photoshopped by anyone wanting to troll for fun, as far as I would know.

Until then color me a skeptic.

Good point but I don't think the flyer is photoshopped.

Note the web address in the pic above and compare it to the address in Gary's announcement (flyer)

I couldn't care less about V4. Machine plenty capable as is. I just wish I had some good sites to use it on right now

Im not a representative for Deus but that info came from someone who is!
I'm pulling for XP to come through this time.

But please understand that unless it's an official XP announcement, or you yourself are a representative of XP, then it's just gossip. That flyer could have been cleverly photoshopped by anyone wanting to troll for fun, as far as I would know.

Until then color me a skeptic.

found this over at Garys site you can goolg xp deus summer rally and see the flyer on Garys site which says this under the entertainment part. (Entertainment:
XP Metal Detectors Team demonstrating the full range of XP Metal Detectors , Products and new releases)

hmm!

It's interesting that they publish in that video and the print ad that they are giving away 20 of the new pinpointers... Guess they will be out for sure by then. :)

It would certainly seem so. I'm cautiously hopeful and will be excited if they do release that date... that video was published Mar 24, 2016 and Gary said "the team from XP will be there, giving you help and advice, and hopefully showing off some new products". Also XP is closed for holidays, from the beginning of Aug until 22 August... almost a whole month. So if they are shipping Sept 18th, then I would assume that the products are ready to roll out now.

He said hopefully in the video which was made in march BUT in the flyers its a sure thing.

I know someone closely connected to XP (not an employee) who is personally attending the rally and is fully expecting to obtain the newly released hw/sw based on assurances from XP. The stakes are very high for XP at the moment. If they fail to deliver it would be a monumental fail.

Anyone know if the new pinpointer can be used underwater? I know it wont be able to talk to the controller without a cord if its submerged. Just curious if theres enough information on this.

Dont know its hush hush. lol

Don't know. Are you asking if it has a vibration mode, otherwise not sure what you are driving at. Also, since I use a scoop or floating sifter when beach or water hunting, I never find the need to use a pinpointer. Not an expert by any means, so if you can better describe how you would use a pinpointer under water, I could probably learn a thing or two. Thanks.

Personally, I am expecting it to actually dig the targets out of the ground for me. If not, there will be much disappointment

That's funny, but seriously, it is going to be a coil for gold hunters released at a 1st Gold Rally, so I'm going to be extremely disappointed if the new coil combined with V4.0 finds anything except gold. :tongue3:

I hunt mostly in 18khz and love working iron patches at hard hit sites. The new coil will obviously run in 10khz for the typical relic hunting, but I'm going to get the new coil specifically for its higher frequencies. Those frequencies should hit on lower conductive targets (such as gold) better and deeper. But what I'm interested in are those lower conductive pewter buttons. Its hard to find pewter buttons and cufflinks unless the coil is almost next to them. The 1812 pewter cuff button in my avatar was only about 5" deep and it was hardly a signal on the Deus and MANY detectorists had missed it before in the past (I actually dug 6 pewters in the same 10 foot area that had been missed by many others). I only heard them because I was running 18khz which is much higher than typical machines run. I'm hoping I can hit on pewter targets like that better running in 20khz or 30khz. Either way, it will be a great coil for the cellar holes even when run in its lower frequencies.

I find that i need to use the pp underwater sometimes when its difficult to break the substrate with the scoop or if theres plants. Just wondering if It is waterproof like the carrot.

Let me start off by saying "I don't know"...Having said that, if I were XP the audio from the pinpointer would be a wireless signal, but the vibrate function would be standalone. For example, you would have the option to choose audio or vibrate through a menu (or however XP has designed the control...and I would also have a feature where, if the signal was cut off (i.e. Pinpointer submerged in water), it would automatically switch to vibrate (until the connection is re-established).

That's how I would do it.

All the posts I have read with the "information" from XP say that it will be waterproof. I'm not sure how much of that is fact and how much is speculation, so I'll believe what I read on the box when it releases. ha

I wonder why no images of the pinpointer or coil on that flyer?

You'd think it would be something a marketing dept. would want to see on there. :dontknow:

I don't know, maybe to build more anticipation?

I now see what your are getting at re: underwater use of the pp. Though I would likely not use it underwater much, I agree that it would be useful for the pin pointer to be at least as water resistant/water proof as the carrot so that it can be used and abused in inclement weather and muddy conditions. Hopefully, the casing is also as robust as the Pro Pointer so that it can stand up to typical target recovery abuse.
