Got out today to a bean field, plat shows farm in 1877 and not on my 1895 map. I find myself asking for help and information from the experts here. Is there a way to tell age and gun the trigger guard is from? It has some sort of flower on the bottom and is brass. Also the mold pliers appear to have initials on one side and maybe a US on the other? Thank you

Great day for a few really top shelf recoveries.
Those mold pliers are neat.

Cool finds! It looks like someone on this site may have found a similar trigger guard with flower in 2020- https://www.treasurenet.com/threads/trigger-guard-with-flower-engraving.644546/

Congrats.

You recovered a bullet mold as well.
That can tell you (assuming it's related to the trigger guard) what caliber the rifle was.
Perhaps the recovered roundballs were cast using it too.

Two/a pair of shoe or boot wear plates. And two buckles to go with them?
Busy finds regardless.
Keep going!

I want to say that trigger guard is from a flintlock or percussion musket. Something similar to the guard below.

Still all in all a NICE FIND Congrats
