CRISPINS CRITTERS

Wow! You definitely had your work cut out for you on that basement project! I'm tired just looking at the pictures! Breaking up cement is certainly not easy. Tile job looks great too. To bad you weren't closer as I have endless projects to do!
Here are some pictures from this morning as I started sanding the drywall in that extra bedroom.

A coupla questions, if you please, Boss....

Seems like the mud on the screws is a bit big in diameter.
I like to have mine about the size of half-dollars...
LESS sanding!
If you can believe it, there is a Building Code for drywall installation!

Nah! Just kidding!

There's HUNDREDS of building codes for drywall installation!

How them corners come out? 'Specially at the ceiling?

Speaking of ceiling, you got a drop acoustic goin' in or sheetrock?

If sheetrock, is it to be textured? Popcorn?
I learned a cool pattern, called "Spanish Fan," from a drywall finisher years ago.

Customers LOVED it!

Ah! Now I see. No drop acoustic...Sheetrock due to the attic ladder/access or fan.....:icon_scratch: Is this the closet or something? Sheesh! That's how big my bedroom is! :tongue3:

How 'bout the floor? Carpet? Slab floor or wood?
Yeah, my knee still hurts every time I think how many times I kick-stretched carpets....
(Tip. Pay a little more and get the thicker padding!)
But, I digress....

One more question....

Where's the outlets? I see one....
Depending on what load is on the particular feed from the breaker box, and whether you are running 15 or 20 amp, I would like to have 4-5 duplex receptacles. You could possibly even have run a new circuit dedicated to that room and added a breaker if you had room in your breaker box.
Could have. Too late now.....Dang! Wish I lived closer....

Where you at again? Up North? Cold? Snow? Ice?!?

Umm...

I'll send you tips instead.
That be OK? :laughing7:

Best Wishes
Scott

I think I have asked this before ( of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most) any Geocachers here?

Finally home D-5 to D-4

My Friend,

You were especially in my thoughts today, not for our game of chess, but for how you lead by example; Wherever you are. Whomever you meet. You have the walk to back the talk and you show what is right.
Especially to your little protege! :notworthy:
Give him a hug tonight from Scotty and tell him that he has Friends lookin' out for him!

Best,

Scott

Oh!
Dang! You draw blood, eh?

Scott, the room with the attic access is a walk in closet for the spare room. I didn't mud it up until now, someone I know put the first two coats on but he was quite sloppy about how he did it. So now I'm sanding it and will do the third coat myself. As for flooring it's getting the same as the other bedrooms. Solid oak flooring. The rest of the house is all slate tiles including the stairs. Keep the tips coming as I'm always eager to learn something new!

My Friend, OV,

I've never really checked out the "Games" facet of this website.

Do they play "Texas Hold "Em?"

I'd much rather play a Friend that I know than one I've just met.

But, I ain't skeered of no one!

However, when time permits, I'll peruse that Topic.

Do you play on that thread?
What's your fancy?

"I don't know, Daddy-O. What you got?"

Solid oak or a "Pergo" product?

Slab substrate floor or wooden?

Be sure to have the correct underlayment for maximum satisfaction! Otherwise over time, with moisture changes, you may see buckling. What's your flooring choice?

Best,

Scott

PS. I only associate with skilled craftsmen...

I once testified in court, defending a fellow craftsman.
Yeah, Drywall and ceiling texture Guru Mark....

I said,

"May it please your Honor and the court, I have worked for many years with the defendant of this suit, and have found him to be honest and hard working. I have learned much, working beside him in joint projects..... I am witness to these proceedings and I will state, under oath, that the plaintiff's allegations are false.
I have found Mr. Wolf to be an Artist in his field. Thank You."

No cross exam was attempted....

My Friend won....

Best,

Scott

Solid oak. No pergo or laminints. Sub floor is 3/4" osb, vapor barrier and using the serrated nails, no staples. Makes a rock solid floor.

Here's a video a took a couple hours ago of the new quad. I installed the carburetor tonight. Take a look how she runs now. Not bad for a quad that supposedly had a "bad" motor!

Been there, done that....

The first time that I went to my locksmith Friend's house, to see about computer needs, he had some hispanic guy doing some work at his house.
I pulled my Friend aside and said, If you don't run him off now, I WILL!

I completely remodeled my Friend's interior, 3 Bedroom, for the price of....Beer!

See! I'm easy to get along with!

Best,

Scott

Beer? Heck I'd not only supply the beer but steaks too! Lol! Nothing worse than having to go back and fix someone else's mistakes. Probably a good thing you guys ran the guy off.
