I remember the UNKNOWN SOLDIER by the Doors... my cousin was KIA in Vietnam 6/1968; I was PO'ED! So was his younger brother, who joined the US ARMY To "get Revenge"... BUT!
Army sent him to Germany. They had already lost an older brother KIA in Korea.

My respect, Friend...

Worse case of "hangover" was when I arrived at my Permanent Duty Station,
In Dallau, West Germany; A NATO Nuclear missile site.

I then proceeded to get dangerously intoxicated.....
DANGEROUSLY....

"Whar's da Cap'n of this 'Mickey-Mouse' outfit?" I bellowed.

Only time that my clothes were ever washed.
With me still in them!

I ended up in the infirmary for a brief time.....

Because of temperate changes, time changes and a cold. Right?

An email just sent to all at the College involved in the Project's correspondence:

I attended the scheduled meeting this morning with Representative Collins.

The results were encouraging and I feel that Congressman Collins will help this project along.

We discussed the Project, the College's participation and also local organizations that would be interested such as DAV and The American Legion.

He indicated a desire to assist in the program, as it is a benefit towards our Veterans.

I also inquired about a Project that he espoused called, "Veterans Court."

It basically is a diversion program for Vets who have found themselves in minor trouble with the law.
He gave me one of his cards with a hand-written note of the local US Judge, Judge Roberts, and encouraged me to look into the program. He stated that there was an urgent need for mentors.

Seems there is another "Project" on the horizon.
I Told Rep. Collins, that as a mentor, I would encourage "Higher Education."

College has been VERY good for me.

Now,
I have the direction,
encouragement and resources

I just went to the grocery store for something for dinner couldn't really decide, plus I was craving my weekly diet of Sushi. The usual " show me Mr Magic Man" cashier wasn't there. She's so kind and I get a kick because she really enjoys what little magic tricks I know. So I downloaded a new App for my Smartphone, was wrapping about our shopping and there by the wine was a gorgeous 30 something with a wine display...... Would you like to try some wine? No thank you I don't drink, but would you like to see a card trick ? Sure....... I say pick a card. She says " the 14 of Diamonds...... I kid you not" sorry ma'am that isn't a card, as I'm about to bust out laughing...... I keep a straight face. We ask my Siri on my Smartphone what is her card and it says the 7 of diamonds which was what she changed it to. Perfect...... My new trick worked great, we both laughed and she said " thanks for the entertainment " I said your welcome.... Then it hit me...... I surely never thought of it as entertainment I think of it as having fun....... Which we did. It's a great way to speak to people.

One more thing then I'll be quiet..... But this one is real good. I picked up an App for my smartphone goes like this---ask someone to pick a card, or you can use a card deck doesn't matter. Do the usual potter patter then find their card. Here's where the fun starts. Tell them you had a premonition about that card today ( name of the app BTW) go to your contacts and there is displayed a name, a picture, phone number and address..... Explain that this person is a psychic friend. Now take a long pause........ Call her and you get her voicemail and she says she saw something today, gives a little story and then NAMES the card your friend chose via voicemail!!!!!! It's a knockout awesome little trick. I love it. Best $4.99 I've ever spent ! That's some Criss Angel David Blaine stuff right there!!!!!! Anyway good night all. I hope I can get some rest...... If not, I guess I'll keep practicing my amateur magic haha. Hope all is well with you Scott. Hope some of the folks that have been around for awhile but don't post often drop back in...... Don't make me pull out my mind reading device you all know who you are! Haha. Here's to a great nights rest. Lord knows I need it!

Well I wasn't sleeping last night and I went outside to just stand and absorb the night air. It was 0230. I thought I saw a man 2 houses down at my neighbors house walk towards the back...... At that time my wife opened the door and told me to get inside our nephew had just called. He's a police officer . I asked what's going on? She said he was checking on us and said the cops are coming so don't go back outside.........I said yeah I thought I saw something that just didn't belong, and my dogs have been acting funny all night. So I'm thinking"the cops are probably responding to this little old lady's house......I saw a man walk towards the tree line , have to share that intel...... Honey call 9-11 tell them we saw someone that didn't belong at Ms X house, they went around the right side of the house towards that tree line. She calls. I'm looking out the window. The cops walking down the street guns drawn, my dogs are going crazy. They surround the house. In a couple minutes they come out with some scumbag wearing the same clothes I saw, must be the same guy. This morning I read on the local news "man arrested for voyeurism with taping device!" My neighbor is in her 70's!!!!!we have to take care of each other. Oh her daughter had seen the man and called the cops first, my nephew heard that call someone prowling, and called to tell us to be careful. That's the cycle of the story . Take care.
