CRISPINS CRITTERS

Think I'll look into buying a .38 wheel this weekend....

I like the "feel."

A man certainly knows what he likes.....

Scott

Man , might as well check out .357' s while you're ogling...
By the time you get a frame size of enough mass that will digest +P rounds to ensure longevity ,the weight in a .38 is close enough to the .357 to make the .357' s ability to digest .38' s a plus in versatility.

Partnered to a .357 rifle....I have lots of options of fodder without committing to only one ,or toting different incompatible rounds with mixed weapons. (During a try not to stuff the roll of rolaids in a chamber type hustle.)And accuracy plus velocity farther out than either wheel gun.
Not for long range work , but at a hundred yards and in.... has been quite sufficient.
Still keep my .38...But to do it again ,if not priced what it was ....another .357 would have had more versatility.

Bought my wife a 38 years ago. RC , Scott, Johnny and any other shooters..... 6.5 Creedmoor bolt action or 300 Blackout AR platform?????? And why????

Either would be quite nice.
My current stable prevents my doin any oglin. Or more importantly ,touching.
Too familiar ,and nostalgic about a couple pets.
A .270 on a 700 action , and a heavy barreled and heavy stocked varmint to deer 25- 06 ; both bolts. And an AK for cheap rounds. The .357 rifle has been put to use the most of late.

Had the 6.5 been more notable back when........ Or AR platforms been more evident in my environs , other builds and options would have been considered.

Johnny. I love the Florida Keys. My wife doesn’t because there are no “ beaches” as she knows them. I told her I wanted to go to the Keys during this years Spring Break. She said no, but I could take her hairdresser....... she’s a gorgeous blonde....... I said nope. I too smelled a rat! Haha

what's the blondes number?

I still want an old 30-30 lever action ( must be my liking for the old john wayne movies)

If you have a couple grand burnin a hole in your pocket...

Yesterday, I went to a "Salvage" type store to see about buying some needed sockets for work.
https://www.facebook.com/129salvage/

I happened to spot some MRE's on a bottom shelf.
I bought them all.

MRE's 001.JPG
4 Cheese Tortellini in Tomato Sauce.
8 Vegetable Lasagna.
9 Penne with Vegetable Sausage Crumbles in Spicy Tomato Sauce.
$1.50 each.

Now I'm ready for camping season!

Best,

Scott

The Treasure that I buried hasn't yet been found.

I'm thinking of posting in the local Facebook groups about the Treasure.
I know of about a half dozen or so groups to post in...
Certainly it will increase interest in Treasurenet.

This is what I'm considering to post....

I have buried a Treasure for you to find.
You must follow the clues.
The Treasure includes: Collectible currency, coins, gemstones and more.
To begin your search, you must go to this link, Register (Free),
http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/au24k/501656-scotts-treasure-tube.html
Put it all together and you may be the one to find the Treasure!
When you find the Treasure, be sure to let everyone know of your success!
I love a Treasure Hunt, Don't YOU?

I'd like Y'all's thoughts before I post.

Best,

Scott

I have fired many weapons...
Some that many have never even seen. AHEM!
That being said, I would love to buy a .357 because of the different rounds that would be available to fire.
However, in respect to accuracy, in a limited distance, I think that a .38 would be easier to control in "rapid fire" circumstances, stopping power not withstanding.
I agree that a .357 is the best way to go.

I am still looking into both, but am picky on my choice.
After all, it isn't just a choice of "Fun."

It is a choice of more important requirements.

Best,

Scott

At just over 2.5 lbs. my 5 inch GP 100 in .357 shoots .38' s in a most controllable manner.
5 inch is an odd size...but special orders are built for at least one outfit. Better velocity than a four ,and near enough a sixes potential. Minus that whole inch of weight...l.o.l..
While it reduces choices of holsters if picky...( a holster for a six inch will suffice) it also gives an excuse to go custom.
On my " tanker style" holster I had a large U.S. stamped on it.
Changed grips ,though the " dog turd"style it came with do shoot well ..just not " clean" enough feel for me and offer bulk when carrying. Changed out front sight to a red ramp.
It shoots well for me.

Lady friend out shoots me if we are using the.38 stubby though.
A longer barrel would help one of us.....maybe.

The last time that I went shooting, I fixed two targets, one left and one right.
To be fair, I had the .38 in my right hand and the .45 in my left. With only 5 in the wheel....

I then charged the targets at a full run, firing towards each.

When the pistol smoke cleared, the .38 in my right hand, with 6 in the wheel, hit for 5 times.
I'm left-handed and the targets were paper plates.
I started the rush at 40 yards.

The .45 in my left hand only hit 4 times.

I'm not sure if that was a bona-fide shooting exercise, but, it made an impression on me.

I feel that a .38 is more accurate due to it's low "kick-back."

If you need the power and force of a .357, I understand.

I also appreciate the use of .38 shells in a .357.

I once owned a Smith and Wesson .357 Highway Patrol Model and frequently fired .38 wad cutters through it....
I wish I'd kept that pistol...

Joke of the day — Arthur is 90 years old. He's played golf every day since his retirement 25 years ago.

One day he arrives home looking downcast.

"That's it," he tells his wife. "I'm giving up golf. My eyesight has gotten so bad that once I've hit the ball, I can't see where it went."

His wife sympathizes and makes him a cup of tea. As they sit down, she says, "Why don't you take my brother with you and give it one more try."

"That's no good," sighs Arthur. "Your brother's a hundred and three. He can't help."

"He may be a hundred and three," says the wife, "but his eyesight is perfect."

So the next day, Arthur heads off to the golf course with his brother-in-law. He tees up, takes an almighty swing, and squints down the fairway.

He turns to the brother-in-law. "Did you see the ball?"

"Of course I did!" replies the brother-in-law. "I have perfect eyesight."

"Where did it go?" asks Arthur.

"I don't remember."

You bet Uncle Bill. I love to laugh..... keeps me sane. I think in high school I was voted “ most likely to join a circus” haha
