Yes, I thought this too - one has a marking around the edge, the other has "letters"??

The coins may be damaged when seperating so take that into consideration. I would add the value of one coin x 10 and add an insane amount on top of that lol. I think I would go with Sedwick Auctions. Maybe you could email to ask their opinion.

The only thing would be if a very rare date or mintmark exists but you would never know.

Too bad it wasnt connected to a large piece of coral. Would have been a better display. I dunno lets see what Sedwick says.

Well they look all stacked up neat. I dont think the coins in my pocket stack like that. The wood long rotted away.

Without revealing to much, you should start researching shipwrecks in the area. I think it would have more value tied to a particular wreck or event.
