I don't know what dowsers are saying about these photos where there are red markers - (maybe there is something) but if you don't have any other options, check - (at your own discretion) for accuracy there are coordinates at the top.

Easy to find in Google Earth. This was a Portuguese slave trade settlement. Tons of local stories about buried treasure from shipwrecks. SĂŁo Miguel dos Milagres, a coastal town in the state of Alagoas, Brazil. Pousada Villas Tature, is not actually a town itself but a tourist community.

Historical Context of SĂŁo Miguel dos Milagres

SĂŁo Miguel dos Milagres, located in the state of Alagoas, Brazil, does not have a well-documented history as a significant Portuguese slave trade settlement. However, it is important to understand the broader context of slavery in Brazil during the colonial period.

Slavery in Brazil

Slavery in Brazil began with the arrival of the Portuguese in the 16th century and was heavily reliant on both indigenous and African labor. The transatlantic slave trade became a crucial part of Brazil's economy, particularly in the sugarcane plantations and later in mining. While major slave trading ports were established in cities like Salvador and Rio de Janeiro, smaller coastal towns, including those in Alagoas, were also involved in the slave economy, albeit to a lesser extent.

SĂŁo Miguel dos Milagres' Role

While SĂŁo Miguel dos Milagres itself may not have been a primary settlement for the slave trade, it was part of a region that participated in the broader economic systems that included slavery. The town's development and economy would have been influenced by the labor systems in place during the colonial period, which included the exploitation of enslaved people. In summary, while SĂŁo Miguel dos Milagres was not a prominent Portuguese slave trade settlement, it was part of a larger network in Brazil that was deeply intertwined with the history of slavery.
