Avagos Goodies

Rough bunch of boxes again last week. 10 boxes yielded 8 skunks and 15 x 40%, 14 of which came from one box for 2.22 ounces. It looks like I'm getting my dumps back from 3 months ago or so, so I'm pretty sure they're getting redumped back into my supply.

We also did our fourth "fun run" of the year covering 275 miles round trip. We found 2 x 40% in $84.00 loose, nothing in $940 MWR and 1 x Walker and 15 x 40% in $1610 CWR. Most of the CWR silver came from two rolls mixed in a dump... The Walker came out of a roll that was already slit open and taped closed so... not sure if someone missed it or didn't care?

Happy hunting out there!

you're an inspiration. sorry things have been slow lately. silver is way up though!

Glad that one box saved the week! That's rough with the road trip though. Definitely seems like a lazy CRHer missed that walker because who else would slit and tape up the roll like that? Hopefully this week will be better for you!

Silver sure is on its way up, nearly hit $20 today from $16 about a month ago, crazy! Unfortunately this week's boxes did even less than the previous two weeks to add to my stack.

Our 12 boxes yielded 3 x 90% and 3 x 40% for a whopping total of 1.53 oz. :weather_rain: 8/12 were skunks which is above YTD average of 55% skunks.

I'm hoping this week's boxes are a little kinder to us... Happy hunting!

I am running at just under a 54% skunk rate. Sorry to hear about your rough week, I got nothing from this week's boxes. Hope next week is better!

Wow You have some amazing banks in your area!!

Hey everyone, it looks like I haven't posted in almost a month! Work, vacations and life have kept me busy, but not too busy to keep hunting!

Our results are starting to fly off a cliff to Skunksville... The week of 7/7 was decent. Our 12 boxes yielded 7 x 90% and 14 x 40% pretty nicely spread across all of the boxes for a total of 4.60 ounces. Oh, if only every week could be that consistent.

The following week we took a vacation to Canada to sit by Lake Ontario and relax. No hunting was done that week!

Upon our return, our 10 box order yielded 9 straight skunks and was capped off with a box containing 4 x 90% and 1 x 40% including a Franklin and two Walkers for 1.60 ounces. That's a lot of hauling, hunting and dumping for $30 worth of silver.

those walkers are beautiful though! I've yet to find one of those. Glad you enjoyed your vacation!

Halves have been terrible for me too, I am at nearly a 57% skunk rate for 2016 and the boxes that have been producing are usually only a couple 40%. Hang in there, hopefully things get better.

Over a month again without a post! Work has been very busy which is keeping me from posting, but not from hunting! Overall it has been very slow with a couple nice boxes sprinkled in to keep things at least mildly interesting.

The past two weeks we were skunked on 15/16 boxes, ouch!! Two silvers from the 16th box including a Walker. I'm sure hoping things pick up.

In the three weeks prior to that we had a few nice boxes that yielded some good and unusual silver. 20 skunks out of 32 searched, but had four boxes with 2.5 oz+. In total, those four boxes yielded 12 x 90% and 50 x 40% including two Franklins, a 1976-S silver proof and a 1968-S silver proof  The other 8 boxes with silver yielded 6 x 90% and 3 x 40%.

Total since last update: 48 boxes including 35 skunks with the rest yielding 19 x 90% and 60 x 40% for a total of 15.75 ounces. Without the four good boxes mentioned above we would have only found 4.01 oz.

Half of the good boxes came at the end of July, so actually August is looking to be our worst month of the year with only 7.61 ounces from 38 boxes, averaging 1 silver per box (YTD we are averaging nearly 2 per box, so this is way below average. Last year we averaged 2.71 per box).

Here's some of the shiny!

Not bad, hopefully things improve though, august wasn't a good month.

Well as wished for, September has been off to a blockbusting start! Best boxes and best weeks of the year this far. Stacking, stacking and STACKING towards our 200 oz. goal. I gave a little more detailed breakdown in the thread listed below, but to summarize...

We had our best box of the year so far with 74 x 40% (no 90%!) for a total of 10.94 ounces! The box had six enders.

Our 20 boxes were KILLER, totaling 28 x 90% and 167 40% for a total of 34.83 ounces. Absolutely bonkers! When it rains silver, it pours! Volume and persistence is key... you can't let the skunks get you down!

Some more of last week's silver continues to flow into this week! Granted, I ordered four extra boxes but setting them aside and doing them separately, one yielded 5 x 40% and three were skunks so not much help.

The major silver this week came from my regular orders... no 74-silver boxes like last week but some solid, solid boxes. Best one this week had 5 x 90% and 38 x 40% including a Franklin and a Walker for a cool and quick 7.43 ounces 8-) Another had 7 x 90% and 14 x 40% for another 4.60 ounces.

In total from 14 boxes this week we pulled 16 x 90% and 70 x 40% with two Franklins and three Walkers, our second best week of the year (after last week) totaling 16.14 ounces! September has been very kind to us, hoping tomorrow's pickups go just as well!

On a side note, aside from my usual tracking that I do on a yearly basis, I've begun to compile our complete historical CRH stats. Thought I would share here a couple charts of the results of our past two years+ of hunting, from July 2014 through this past week, spanning 907 boxes.

Chart1.jpg

This first chart shows just a tally, per box in column form. The left axis/blue bars are the number of silvers in each box and the right axis/red lines are the amount, in ounces, in each box.

Chart2.jpg

This second chart shows a running total at a per-box granular level in line chart form. Again, the blue line is the number of silvers and the red line is the amount, in ounces.

yep, that is a nice followup week of silver. Youve been on quite the tear! Who knows what is in store for next week haha. Good luck!

Whelp, the silver vein has officially dried up! Was shorted a box last week, but it probably didn't matter much. Our nine boxes yielded 1 x 90% and 10 x 40% for a whopping 1.84 ounces. Looks like we're back to the regular batch.

Already started on this weeks boxes... 5/10 in and we've yet to find a silver. Ergh. The silver gods giveth, the silver gods taketh away.

Been another couple weeks since our last update, two 10-box weeks to recap...

Two weeks ago we had a nice 90% to 40% ratio, albeit with a relatively small total yield. Ten boxes yielded 5 x 90% and 4 x 40% including a Franklin for 2.40 ounces. Not bad, but definitely below our average.

The week after sure made up for it! We had some strange boxes...

Two of them contained coins all 1994 and older, not a single marked coin in them. The rims were slick, maybe from an old casino stash? Not sure, but they produced some nice silver: 1 x 90% and 25 x 40% between them. A few more solid boxes brought our haul for the week to 5 x 90% and 48 x 40% including two Franklins and two modern silver proofs!! That's a total of 8.91 ounces, double what we get in an average week.

IMAG1470_1.jpgIMAG1471_1.jpg

The 2012-S is the key date silver proof with a mintage of only 395,443 pieces! Even in impaired condition this one is a great find! We also scored a 2011-S silver proof and while not as rare, is still an unusual find. A blind man could spot these silver rims!

Edit: We're also approaching two milestones... we're at 199 ounces found YTD and are rapidly approaching $500,000 searched over our career which we should hit by the end of the year.

That 2012 is a really nice coin!!!! I remember seeing it at my LCS selling for about $150 or something near there.
