🥇 BANNER New Random Field - Day 4 - Hammered + ROMAN GOLD COIN (Wish List No.3)...

New Random Field - Day 4 - Hammered + ROMAN GOLD COIN (Wish List No.3)...
We returned close to where we had marked off & I made a judgement call on the area Cru'dad could grid in a day (enough to finish up against our previous grid), so that I could grid right at my pace & Cru'dad could grid left at his slower pace. Saves me having to turn at the end of runs & finish his grid. (wastes time going back to the start, especially on large area grids)
As luck would have it the Roman Gold was half way on my 2nd run! It's pretty heavy clay & I picked up the lump with it in & saw the rim of a gold coin. Immediately thought Gold Coin but before giving it more thought, I...

🥇 BANNER 1804 Dollar......No jokin' About This Token!!!

1804 Dollar......No jokin' About This Token!!!
Hey hey diggers!
It's been a minute since I posted some finds but this one was just too good not to share!
Spent a few good hours on a site Iron Patch and I discovered last week...check his post Old Louis and George Bros. and you'll get the idea.
Our second stab produced equally as good and maybe better results in finds and quality.
In a couple of hunts the early British colonial site gave me my best finds while IPs best were from the Acadian sites only meters away in the very same field.
Best results for my efforts were two early militia buttons from our area St John's Volunteers and...

🥇 BANNER $1 US 1856 Gold Dollar

$1 US 1856 Gold Dollar
I was up with a few friends to what used to be a hot spot, but we have hit it now pretty good over the last few years, and the farmer now only deep discs, so finds are getting harder to get. This one spot has the ground disturbed from the tractor, so I decided to go over and run the Deus 2 over it. I got one signal jumping between 47 and 52 on the side of one of the furrows. And lookie who pops out! It was maybe 4" deep, but on its side. This is the first one like this I have ever found, or so I thought then remembered one from awhile ago, after being reminded. For some reason I...

🥇 BANNER Stunning Marked Napoleonic Era British Volunteer Corps Cross Belt Plate!!!

Stunning Marked Napoleonic Era British Volunteer Corps Cross Belt Plate!!!
I still can't believe I found this! Only the second hunt this Spring since the ground thawed and the site was almost a dud. Only a dozen buttons, two IHPs, and some odds and ends despite being an undetected foundation. I was working my way further out from the structure when I spotted a farm road cut into the hill and detected along it for awhile. There was an old thimble and a spoon bowl so I started working down the embankment and almost immediately got a 90's tone which turned out to be this:

Finally! I've always wanted...

🥇 BANNER 1852 Gold $1 again

1852 Gold $1 again
So I went for a quick hunt to the site I found last month where Ive been digging lots of mostly Braided hair large cents. Also got two worn Spanish as well as an 1853 trime. Didnt find any keepers last hunt here for the first time so wasn’t expecting much. I knew this site , though, was a prime candidate for an early seated half dime or even a gold dollar. Sure enough luck would strike again for a third time with another beautiful 1852 gold dollar:hello2:

Me and my buddies Eastcoast hunter and Bart got out for a hunt. A real beat up place that’ll reward you if you try hard enough. I’m right in a spot overlooking a stream and I get clunky mid-signal.

What I uncovered blew my mind. First I saw the eagle and the corroded edges and, having dug a few, I knew it was an old counterfeit. I was thinking it’s a counter Mexican 8. My buddy Charlie cleaned it I and we were floored. Never have I seen a trade dollar, much less a counterfeit one![ATTACH type="full"...

🥇 BANNER Seminole War Fort Awesome Coin

Seminole War Fort Awesome Coin
Hey guys. I’m still super pumped up! This afternoon I hit my favorite Seminole war fort again. I hit the same yard I pulled that artillery button out of yesterday. I didn’t arrive until four o clock so I didn’t have much time. I decided to change tactics and detect right along the road. After finding a musketball and a game piece I thought I was done. To my surprise I pulled out this 1837 8 real that was laying on a bed of old period square nails.
Any ideas on how to get the iron off the coin? Any help would be appreciated.
One of my favorite Seminole war fort finds ever!
Thanks for...

This is unbelievable this might be my most precious relic yet
This is unbelievable this might be my most precious relic yet. I saw lotta broken glass, blue white shards and a lot of iron and then I pulled up this NOT A DING ON IT!!! How can one man be so lucky? The Lord is good

🥇 BANNER Best Metal Detecting Find EVER!

Best Metal Detecting Find EVER!
I'm constantly asked (as I'm sure many of you here are too..), "What's the BEST thing you've ever found"? Well....I can now pretty much answer that question very easily! Here it is! 14K Yellow Gold, Halo/Basket setting with approx .75 to 1.0 carats of diamonds around and a WHOPPER of a center stone. Somewhere either side of 2 carats. Likely in the J-K color range but still giant! Found on the beach about mid slope. I was thinking I found one that was lost this past summer that Gigmaster, I and others had searched for as a return but was never found. It too had an oval diamond but in a...
