My newsman told me that starting tomorrow night winter/snow/cold are all coming back to visit! :angry4:

I live south of the Mason Dixon on purpose! Since you yanks can't keep your shtuff up there, I figured I'd just
sneak out today. This post is for you guys!

See what you can't do! HAH! I had a heck of a time! So there! ;)

Don't know what "R" means? :dontknow:

Found this rock to be a bit interesting. Been too long
for me to remember my minerals. But, it's almost a
square. Seems strange to me. (No, it's not rock salt)

Blingie and Fishy send you-all "WARMEST" of greetings! ;)

(all tongue in cheek, of course)

Thanks for peeking!

It's a good thing the winter slows us down here up north or we'd all be millionaires with all the finds! Lol
Just joking. Glad some people can still get out hunting. We luckily missed the last two storms but another big snow storm coming here in Nova Scotia this Sunday.

16-20 inches of snow on the ground here in Youngsville n.y. (20 miles north of Monticello) Come on Spring. Great to see what everyone is still finding while I'm snowed in.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION HERE :occasion14:

this is the kinda thing that keeps me from gettin outa anger management.โ€‹

Everyone has a head start on us dave, freakin snow, ice, tundra!!!View attachment 1118791NO SIGN OF RELIEF IN THE NEAR FUTURE EITHER!

Holy cow, there are way too many pictures on that forecast. We suppose to get a dusting next week, but this Winter has been kind to us. We've had temps in the 50s and 60s.

I'm hooked into The Matrix, and I don't care because the life they gave me is MDing on the beach, and finding gold rings.

Now back to reality. Snow sucks. The wife bought us snowshoes and we do that often, but its a pita with this amount of snow.

Heading out early to pick up my son in law and we'll run around a few places picking up pallets for him to burn. He has a wood-fired boiler in his place. Nice heat, but there was a shortage of seasoned wood this year up here, and they got caught with their pants down.

Well when I woke up the temp was 0.5, yes a half of 1 degree!!, that's ok, I don't like metal detecting anyway!!!

I actually stepped in a bit of MUD in a field yesterday! I was so excited.[emoji1]

:hello2: Really like the "R" & you were wise to get out before the storm. :icon_thumright:

We'd like most of that snow to be piped over here where we've had nasty extreme drought for 3 years, broken only by two rains this season. Weird upside is we've been having summer all year long - gonna be in the 70's coast & valleys all week even up here in central CA which usually has cooler winters. Meanwhile my sis & her guy are frozen in upstate New York - strange weather everywhere the past few years. :dontknow: Andi

Andi, I hear the folks in Boston are looking for somewhere to truck their snow piles. You could charge them usage fee and sell the precipitation. I am only going to charge you 50% for the idea, lol!

This is the back with 3 feet of standing snow. Today I have to try and remove snow on the roof edges which will bury the windows. It won't be easy getting over there to rake off the snow. Sat-Sun. we get another "jackpot" of 12-18". It's not coming down in inches any more it's in feet!image.jpg

And this is the "view" out of the kitchen window above the sink, snow drift on left, hanging bird feeder on right.

So I DO appreciate your posts WHADIFIND, it reminds me there is a world out there....one not made of snow!

No boat, I hope the house floats!

Fortunately, thus far, I've only had to deal with the cold. Can still see the ground here. It's sort of funny that when your state puts
out advertisements and enticements to visit, they're always beautiful pictures of snow. For me, that would be reason enough to stay
away! :dontknow:

I've had to deal with this sort of snow before though so I know how deadly serious it can be.

As far as the roof goes? Just put your stereo speakers in the attic and point them up. Then, crank up your favorite, heaviest
rock band and the vibrations will clear the roof for you! ;)

In any case, just be extremely careful getting out in it! A simple slip and fall in normal times is bad enough but fall into a hole now and, well,
you know.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your wonderful finds this summer. So, be safe and keep warm!

The big storm Sunday here may change to rain for a short time before the temperate drops quick again. That may sound better than all snow but with all the snow that's already down and what's coming before the rain starts it will make everything like concrete the next day. The ice takes so much longer to melt than the snow. Last year I got to hunt some in the woods this time of year while the snow was down but it's to deep even in there now.
