My newsman told me that starting tomorrow night winter/snow/cold are all coming back to visit! :angry4:

I live south of the Mason Dixon on purpose! Since you yanks can't keep your shtuff up there, I figured I'd just
sneak out today. This post is for you guys!

See what you can't do! HAH! I had a heck of a time! So there! ;)
Now keep that northerner shtuff up there where it belongs! ;)

Don't know what "R" means? :dontknow:

Found this rock to be a bit interesting. Been too long
for me to remember my minerals. But, it's almost a
square. Seems strange to me. (No, it's not rock salt)

Blingie and Fishy send you-all "WARMEST" of greetings! ;)

(all tongue in cheek, of course)

Thanks for peeking!

I plan on being here for the "thaw", I haven't found that gold ring yet (one I can keep)!
Mass. covers all their bases advertising beaches in summer, skiing in winter, changing leaves in autumn, taxes in spring... Oh wait wrong ad! :laughing7:

I don't have any base woofers (?) that large. :dontknow:
I wonder if I could get the National Guard to hover above the house in a helicopter for just a few minutes?
Talk about an over sized snow blower that may work! :hello2:
You would think some one would come up with an easier fix for this, like silicon or Teflon spray for the roof! :icon_scratch:

Oh where oh where has my little spring gone, oh where or where can it be?
With it's days grown long and it's nights gone warm, oh where oh where can it be? :tongue3:

Go'n just a little stir crazy here! :BangHead:

Don't know about Mass, MBB, but in Ky you would just have to turn some grow lights on in the attic and spread some houseplants about...they'd hover right over!

Oh that's easy! Just build a snowman on your roof, fix him up with a beret and a broom. Then call in a possible sniper on the roof. ;)

Keep hanging in, MsBeep, trust me, you'll get there! :)

Very productive hunt! We have more snow coming on Saturday night:BangHead:

Lol! Old Dude just the green light glow emitting from under the roof eves maybe enough to get their attention!

WHADIFIND That may work on Martha's Vineyard not so much here, no "important" residences here, they would just send out a patrol car thinking it was another gang shooting, sad but true.

Somebody needs to find that new weather machine and "adjust" the settings (and I don't care how! Just turn it off!!!)

I feel for you guys up north of me, I heard Boston got 84" since January 1. where the heck do u put it all, what month does it all go away and u get a thaw where you can actually detect? June?

Stay safe up there!

-41/with wind here by Sunday...and (on the map)..I'm actually farther south than most U.S. northeastern states on the border!

"Everybody complains about the weather, but, nobody does anything about it!" :dontknow:

If they could "turn it off", whom, in government, would you trust with the switch? :icon_scratch:

Whatifind...Did we ever figure out what the mineral was? Quartz maybe...

As a water hunter I like the storms, the wind....just hope it moves some sand...
Weds looks like water hunt....AT35 WT34

And God be with you poor souls getting more snow up North......Stay Warm and Be Safe

I would want a T Net member in charge of that switch! :icon_thumleft:
At this point I'm willing to attempt the "stop the snow dance" but given my track record and my relationship with "Murphy" :BangHead: that may do more harm than good, like another global winter! :laughing7:
They are melting some of the snow and dumping some of it in the ocean.
There goes the plowed goodies, :gold-bracelet: in the water! More for you water hunters!
Our ocean water is a balmy 40 degrees, sure beats the -8 with a 50/60 mph breeze (-20/-30 feels like with the wind chill).:sadsmiley:

I'm sure there will be a little pile of snow here somewhere come July! 8-)
I can't wait to hear the forecast for Wed! They mentioned a "notable" snow storm...so these were just practice !!!!!!!!!!!! :tongue3:

Not to worry enough of us will survive untill spring with any luck we will be posting finds again by April, until then we can look at whats found down south

Nope, I still don't have a clue about that rock. I thought quartz too but the cleaving is too straight.
I would think quartz wouldn't break in squarish chunks. I'm thinking maybe calcite. :dontknow:

Hmmmm, interesting! Just how might you be dressed for this so called dance? :tongue3:

It's gone beyond the point of absurdity up here in Eastern MA. 16" more this morning makes 88" in 23 days. Record for the season is 104" I think (for 4 months). The whole place is at a standstill and it doesnt get easier when it stops snowing. Getting ready for the next one Tuesday. Already had to bring in an excavator once to clear the driveway when the plow guy gave up. At least the ground is gonna be wet for a while. Should help us get some deep targets when this stuff melts!

I live in the shadow of Mt. Washington (NH) who's claim to fame is "The worst weather in the world" and when I look out my windows and see nothing but a wall of white that is our snow banks and drifts I want to scream!

My snow blower is working over time, I've destroyed 3 shovels in 1 week striking ice under the snow, I've had to get up on the roof 3 times this season to clear off 2 to 3 of snow each time and have had to leave my truck buried under a ton of the white crap because I only have enough stamina to clear the wife's car out after each storm.

When I moved up here in 1995 it was a real bad winter here and now I will be leaving the state once my home sells and I will be leaving after one of the worst Winters we've seen up here since our first, time to bail out of this frozen hell I call NH and head for sunny FL.

Nothing like busting your butt for 3 hours in sub zero temps only to have the jerk of a plow driver come along and rebury the front of the drive way with heavy concrete like ice and snow mixture, ya, that never gets old !

Good bye NH, and what ever happened to the neighborhood kids that would shovel you out for a $10.00 bill, todays kids are glued to their computers and Ipads with NO desire to make some money off old folks like me who can no longer dig themselves out !

I find after a certain age you can't live in snow country unless you can afford the high prices for snow removal companies.
