WHO WANTS TO DIVE FOR TREASURE

Wow! Wish I could do this! Keep us updated this summer! :icon_thumleft:

How about the old 55 gallon drum method (the plastic ones). I have read these work exceptionally well and can handle a considerable amount of weight. They are also good to build a float deck for the divers to work from/to, which would help if you had to place a heavy object onto the float deck to help maneuver it to get it onto the boat or for use as a diver resting area.

Everybody else
Found all of your posts interesting and found out how little I know about physics, but something tells me with your help we will get the cannon off the bottom when the time is right. I assume the reason things feel so light underwater is because I am only lifting the rock, not the water it displaces.
Darn !! I was kinding of hoping I had extra powers underwater. ;) :D ;D

Hello Pattiewhack
You are welcome to join us this spring/summer when we start diving again.

Hello Itmaiden
I think you are right about the drums. They are good for everything and when we are done we cut them in half and coil our anchor lines in them.

Hi Scott! I visited you 3 years ago but the diving wasn't possible. We talked about my son, the Durham Bull.
He got called up to the Rays in October, after 6 years 4 months in the Minors...better than finding gold, for me.

Hope I can visit again this spring if the water's good.

Hi Bob
Great to hear that your son made it. You were with us when we went to Fort Lauderdale and looked at another boat. You told us about your son on the ride down. I am happy for both of you. Hopefully it will be a great spring/summer after this winter which hasn't been so great.
Looking forward to diving with you.
Scott

Hello Scott, I have been away from the forum for a while. I still want to make it down to dive with you. Right now I am laid up with a ruptured bicep tendon. Supposed to be healed by May 1. Maybe I can get down there this spring or summer.

Lee

Hello Leebo
I hope you get better soon. I know how hard it is to be laid up and not be able to do what you want. When you get better get in touch with us and come spend some time in the saltwater. It will make you feel great and finding some treasure won't hurt either. Looking forward to diving with you.

I am looking for something to do while on vacation in mid April. Looking to drive down that way from Jax. Will you guys be diving yet? Would love to spend the week diving. How do I sign up :).

Hello jwertz
I don't think we will be diving in april, but you never know. If we are you will read about it on Tnet. We expect to start in May, but we may start sooner. Stay tuned to Tnet for all the latest.

Can't wait to get together with you and find the gold. You name the day and I will prepare for it.

I feel the same, my gills are drying up and i need to get in the water. Scott, have you found a permanent crew for this summer or is the offer still on the table. I'm still interested and it's getting close to that time!

Jason

Hello Jason
The offer is still open and we are looking for a couple more divers. Looking forward to working with you again.

As to the question about diving for treasure we all do I think. Anyway my question is what was your finds as of last year.I heard you have the best producing site on the coast.I've been in the business for about 25 years and would love to know what the best thing going is.Thanks Capt Rodney

Hello Rodney
We have pretty well documented our last couple seasons on the "Seahunter" here on this thread. As for what did we find last year? Nothing. The state did not renew our permit until very late in the season and by then my crew had moved on to other things. The Polly-L did work some last year and had a fair amount of success. As for us being productive - the "Seahunter" put treasure on the decks at least four out of every five days and there were months where we put treasure on the deck every day. Not sure where this ranks us and don't care - we do it for the love of it. Really don't even care about the treasure,it is the thrill of the hunt. Once you find the treasure, then you have to conserve it and catalog it and make sure nobody steals it and send it to the state. It is boring after you find it. It is the journey, not the destination that I like.

It has been my experience that covering the ground very slowly and thoroughly tends to produce the most treasure, but then I think we have only been at it for twenty three years, and there were many years I never even dove, so I may not really be qualified to speak on the subject.

How have you done on the "Juno" site. Is your permit renewed? Have you ever found any treasure on that site? Do you still have an agreement with the leaseholder?

Seahunter, I have sent you a message. Please let me know if you receive it.

Scott,

Sent you a PM, I would love to dive with you guys, its a dream of mine. I am currently working overseas and would only be able to come back and dive for about a week. Please let me know if this is possible.

Thanks,

Crackbadger aka Brandon

If you have room this summer, I would love to come down for a week.

Hello Scott,

Thank God I have been keeping my self busy, but if work slows down I would be willing to work for you fulltime in the summer.....

All the best,

Chagy....
