Whats on the menu tonight?

Everyone has left camp,(next door), and headed home to Fla. and Montana. We have had the celebration of life for my Brother in law who died of pnenemonia at the same time I recovered...finally closure!..Tonight we started emptying the fridge of home baked beans, sweet corn, BBQ spareribs and left over deep fried King salmon from Lake Ontario' Finally we will be back to a normal day and week....and I need 2-3 hours to shed all the rum....12 bottles this week alone!....see you later... Gary
I hope your family is all right. And emptying the fridge...that works!

Tonight my wife is making BBQ chicken thighs. Boil them for 45 minutes, then on to the grill...smothered in home made BBQ sauce (hers) Corn on the cob, 'cause I've got it..and she said something about deviled eggs( I hope) or backed 'taters (with chives, grated cheese and sour cream)
I worked up an appetite. I will show you!

Come on guys.... Texas Red asked about beans in chili.... ('Do you like beans in your chili, or without?') I'm the only one who's responded to his question thus far. Let's give Idaho a little more respect. So... damn-it .... BEANS OR NO BEANS? T-Red wants to know. He may be fixin' a pot for us someday.

Well I will tell you my recipe since its written down.
1/2 lb Italian sausage.
1lb ground beef.
1 onion.
1 28oz can whole tomatoes, undrained.
1 15oz can tomato sauce.
2 TBSP brown sugar.
1 to 2 TSP chili powder.
1 to 2 TSP cumin.
1 to 2 TSP oregano.
1 15oz chili beans, rinsed, drained.
1 15oz can garbonzo beans, rinsed, drained. Or black beans, rinsed, drained.
4 to 8 gloves of garlic, minced.
Sweet peppers, sugar peppers. If I don't have them, green bell peppers.
Jalapeno peppers.
tabasco sauce.
habanero peppers (carefull). Peppers...how many depends on how hot you want it! I have backed off over the years.
And I cook this in the crock pot.

Deer back strap cut up in chunks and cooked in crockpot with cream of mushroom soup. So tender you can cut with a fork. Served over rice with green beans and boiled potatoes for sides.

You get an A+.
Box it up, and send me some...please...sir.

Gotta have beans in the chili...unless its hot dog chili, then no beans. My wife makes a fine ground, thick hot dog chili that's so good we eat it on a bun without the hot dog...call it a chili bun.

Snout cheese knish, slathered in goober grape. And a lard samich, on rye of course. Washed down with Keystone Light. Tomorrow night (payday), I shall splurge on fried yummy chitlin's, with grits, smothered in a milk gravy made from the fried chitlin grease, of course. Mountain Dew too. Next week, I move on to organ meats of various types, and I explore ripple. I will update with pics.

New England Boiled Dinner is on the brew tonight.

Ham shoulder in a kettle, with carrots, potatoes, whole onions, baby turnips, and cabbage. I toss in a bay leaf and 2-3 tbs of vinegar just to keep things lively.

With beans.Chili.I won,t get upset if a little cheese gets sprinkled on top before serving. Any crackers will suffice, but oyster are nice.
