I write lyrics for Bluegrass Gospel and have had some fun with that over the years. I pastored a small country church for 10 years and expect to return to this in the future.

I work in the exciting field of cold drawn steel, (hence my title). 300 thru 400 grade stainless, carbon and alloy steels. Not really so exiting, but amazing that steel can be manipulated into so many shapes, in cold form, pulled thru a machine, not rolled, is something to see. Been at it for a little over ten years. Lately I've been hitting the geometry and trig studies to get into the die maker's dept. (They have air conditioning and heat for the EDM machines) LOL

I work in Aerospace Manufacturing for Howmet Castings, which is a division of Alcoa Power & Propulsion. We are the leading supplier of turbine components to the aircraft engine industry. We work in titanium and specialty alloys and also produce aerospace structural components, impellers for turbochargers, and a load of other stuff too. I work there as a process technician and run Hot Isostatic Pressing equipment, which strengthens the finished parts by heating them under extreme pressure (up to 35,000 psi of argon). It sounds cool but basically I sit at a console all day like Homer Simpson.

I am also an Engineer (Heavy Equipment) with the Michigan Army National Guard and am currently on my second deployment to Iraq. I also served active-duty in the Marine Corps from 1983 to 1996 (Air Wing).

HH,
SgtSki

I am a husband and father of 4 boys, ages 9,7,4 and 6 months--no gray hair yet but surely it is on it's way.

I fly helicopters with 25 yr old Ashleysflyr. :o

Just kidding, I'm a fireman at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. Been at it 12 yrs as a DOD civilian---only 8 more man, then you should see me giving you stickers when you enter Walmart ;D. Prior to this, I was 11 yrs AF active duty fireman (for one of those years I went postal in Sicily for special duty assignment--at Comiso Air Station, hence my screen name, comisoas.). Would love to do the detecting thing full time, only a pipe dream though I am afraid, for now at least.

Kirkhunter,

Pastoring a small country church probably doesn't pay much....but the rewards are wonderfull. I hope the Lord will use you in that capacity again :)

What is it with us public safety people? Everytime I go into Wally-world I tell my wife there's my next job - and say "Hi, welcome to Wal-Mart. Want a sticker?" Then she hits me........
