whats does everybody here do for work?

I work for the government. I am an IRS agent who investigates tax cheaters. I work in the undeclared income/wealth division of the agency. I love this site. Several of the entries in the Best Finds section which I reported got me a promotion.

P.S Tom in Ca Was that gold coin you found eventually graded as XF or F?

Actually I am a Geologist that works in the Oil and Gas industry. I have been working in the field now for 30 years. The only suits I wear are for funerals and weddings.

I'm an Auto Tech, specializing in diagnostic and electrical work, in beautiful North St. Louis! Metal detecting is what keeps me linked to the world of sanity after a day of wracking my brains over those demon-possessed cars they drive! :D

I am a woodworker specializing in furniture and custom millwork

I detest metal fasteners, so all of my work is made with joinery.
Here is a shaker style rocker that is an exact replica of one I found in Virginia several years ago.
There are no metal fasteners used.

That is beautiful Old Dog! :o Amazing craftsmanship, an art that seems lost til we find someone like you!

I have loved seeing how varied the work is for everyone here and yet we are pulled together here with a common love for Treasure hunting! So very cool! :D

I own and operate an automobile, hot rod,and custom motorcycle shop. We are always doing something different. This week along with our normal tune-ups,brake jobs, and diagnostic repairs we are doing a performance engine job on a 1930 ford hot rod.In 2 weeks we have a dodge viper scheduled for differential work. Hope to retire in 2 yrs with my wife and become a steady full metal detectorist .This hobby has been my passion. It tends to bring out the boy in me.After working tirelessly, countless hours and for 35 years at the same occupation, I've chosen this as my most favorite pastime.

HIO O. Dog: That is just beautiful work. I understand that natures aids in tranquilizers are coming back. You will have your hands full. I have a modern equiv. suspended on roller bearings, it is nice, but can't compare to the rocker for delicate exercise as well as it's calming effect.

Thanks a lot you guys,
I have been told that my love for shaker style is part of a mean streak that runs through me.
This is most often repeated by the younger generation... these old true Shaker style chairs make you use good posture. LOL

Mostly I do period things...Much demand.
Adams, Hepplewhite, etc.
My favorite furniture maker is Duncan Pfyfe although I like my constuction methods better. LOL

I work at a small ship yard, building Coast Guard bouytenders, staten island ferrys, now working on shallow water LCS prottype ship for the Navy, am a welder but doing mostly QA work the last 3 years, theres a lot more satisfaction welding, than headbutting with idiot forman to get the job done right. you know what they say. never enough time to do it right the 1st time

I can relate to that headbutting, thompy, after retiring from the Navy I worked 20+ years as a QA Supervisor & Manager in automotive electrical systems.

Was Aviation Electrician in the Navy.

Now I don't do a heck of a lot.

Was never there. Most of my time was on the east coast. Time on the left coast was at Miramar & USS Enterprise.

HI Steve, gosh thanks, was weakening fast. Now I can sit comfortably and meditate on the future of the world and how I will fix it.

p.s. Do you think that the guys will form a necktie party for me if she abandons that sexy dress for a sister's habit? Maybe it's better if I just kidnap her and forget my stupid vows?
