Thought it was a bullet of some sort at first.
Fishing weight maybe?
Plumb bob?

cant imagine why you wouldn't try to open it
being brass, it wouldn't be rusted shut
unless, your teasing us

Welp...
It has been 2 days and nothing...

I just cant open it. Without damaging it. Tried the duct tape and all with WD40. Guess I give up. Bet it was surrounded by wood or something. Anyways, thanks to all who has tried. One of you may be right. Just don't know who.

I don't remember this being mentioned but where did you find it. By water I could see it being fishing related but far from water not so much. Interesting.

There he is !

Welp... no luck so far ehh...
I meant to ask...
Does it feel hollow? or solid ?
Does it have something moving inside when you shake it ?

Feels lite for brass. Or seems like it would be heavier if solid brass. Nothing rattling inside. Have it soaking in olive oil for a few days and try again to open.

I think it is an adjustable brass fishing weight! You can ad 0-5or6 lead bb's to leave it light or make it heavier.
In the attached photo you see one just inside at 1 o'clock. and a smaller one taken apart right in the middle.
I can't believe it took 4 pages to solve this.
Thanks for waiting on me.

Could be. Someone else suggested it as well. Just no indication of an eyelet at all on either side. Thanks for the reply..

Not trying to tease at all. Been trying to open, Don't wanna damage it. I already did put a little plyers mark on it trying the duct tape wrap idea. I have it soaking in olive oil Right now and will try again today. Sure looks like it opens to me but maybe not.. I think the bullet pen is the most logical possibility though. Won't know unless I get it open..

For real? Are you serious? Not Magnetized and not sign of a hole but the shape is suspicious..

Not enough tape :P heh

I used quite a bit. And the tape would start sliding as I twisted. And I did leave a little mark or two. Soaking it still but may try the freezer and-or heat today.

Like I told you in the beginning, it's a pen. Then I said "put it in the freezer". But you can do on more thing so you dont damage it. Put the bigger end in water and freeze it, that will give you grip on the pen side and the pen cap you can get a smaller rubber grommit drill a hole in the rubber for the pen cap and twist that bad boy off. Just saying

You may be right. I'm going to give it a try here later. Thanks.
