Hi all.
Jeff here from aledo texas. Near ft worth. Getting back into the hobby.
Are their any metal detector retailers with site stores in dfw?

Hello I'm Beth from Ottawa. I'm completely new to the hobby of metal detecting but have been interested since I was in my early teens, I'm 44 now :) My partner recently gave me a Bountyhunter 2200 as a birthday gift and I'm hooked.
I enjoy history and wandering about along creeks and in woodlands so the detector ties in nicely.
One of my other hobbies is radio DXing and I'm all ways building new components for my radio set up, this helps a great deal under standing the physics of how a detector works.
I've been out a few times in places where I'm allowed to detect and so far have only found recent coins :) oh darn.
I'm looking forward to learing more and getting to hunt on some more interesting property.
So a big hello from Ottawa. BeepBeepBeep

Hi there....
I am glad to have found this site and all the info it can provide. With Michigan being the mitten state, I live at the tip-of-the-mitt. Hold out your left hand and look at the tip of your middle finger, that's where we call home. Historically the area has a logging, railroad, fur trade and tourism since 1880. I really could find anything. So now mostly a tourist area. With that said, I am hoping for some good beach finds. So far I have checked a beach, old church, a picnic park and old farm. Not too bad for jumping into the hobby about 10 days ago with an ATPro. The best finds so far is 1918 wheat, a brass makeup case, a mystery button item (posted in whats this), and a ton of cool farm finds, horseshoes and other blacksmith iron items.
Thanks again for the great site........

Greetings, everyone - I am totally new to this hobby and can't wait to get started. I am in Santa Fe, NM; retired science teacher. My first task is to choose a detector, of course, so I will be perusing this site for information and reviews. Anyone have anything to say on the subject, please let me know! I think I want to start with an all-purpose machine since I don't have a lot of cash to throw. Also don't know how much detecting goes on out here in the high desert - I've never seen anyone anywhere out here so yee haw, maybe most of the state is virgin territory. ;) I look forward to interacting with you all as I learn. Thank you for having this site available! Linda

Greetings from Central Ohio! I have detected quite a bit in the past, and am starting to get the itch to start up again. Have been perusing your site and decided to "pull the trigger" and sign up. Good to read that there are still lots of treasures out there to be discovered. Hoping to find some worthy of posting in the near future! :icon_thumleft:

Hello all
Jim here.
Been a follower of the site for sometime now and finally decided to make it official.
I'm in the swimming pool biz and
Got in to scraping in the the winter.
That led to curb hunting and Pennie hoarding.
That led to coinroll hunting and buying a metal detector.
I always liked garage sales but now I hunt at them and eBay.
The bottom line is I'm a treasure hunter n love this site!
Happy to be here!
J
