Welcome to the site! Please post an introduction thread.

Hi, I'm a tenderfoot. When we experienced Hurricane Sandy in New York, there was a big mess on our property. One of the casualties was a large holly. When my husband dug out what was left of it over the spring, he found a projectile point in the soil. We just visited one local museum and plan to visit another before deciding where to donate the projectile point. Today I looked at a rock that we've kept as a paperweight. It's a strange rock that we found years earlier that we laughed about because it looked like a duck. We wondered, could it be a tool? The projectile point has sparked our interest in native American history.

I'm also new to tnet and new to detecting. I live in prosser washington, I recently took a metal detecting trip to idaho. I had some great finds. I found a token (gem saloon, nampa idaho) they say it is rare. Will post picture as soon as I figure out how. Also found 4 wheats and $ 31.40 in change and kenndy half dollar centennial. It was a great trip.i have so much to learn. I have a xterra 705. I am currently trying to lean the laws here in washington state. They are not very descriptive about metal detecting. Hope to learn from you all out there. If there is anyone out there in my area or know of a club please post. Happy detecting
L

I have detected years ago and have got the itch to go play again. To get started I got me a Minelab Excalibur II wanting to hunt the beaches here in South Texas. I have been reading and learning a lot from all the post. Excited to be a member here.

Hello everyone my name is Ashton this be my first post on treasure net, ive been detecting for a few years but I still feel like I have no idea what im doing so ive come to take pointers! I live in rural North Carolina, I started detecting when my urges were becoming too strong, luckily detecting was right up my alley because its been almost 2 years since I murdered last.

jcb465 kinda echos my situation. Happy to be diggin' again. Actually was digging through the web when I came across Treasure Net. This hobby always was kinda like fishing to me...never sure what the next catch will be.

Hello everyone. I recently got into the hobby of metal detecting, in a small town about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA. I have only had my detector for a little over a week, and still getting used to the machine. Someday I will be able to pinpoint my targets a little better to prevent making such large plugs. I'm sure it is like anything else, practice practice practice.

Hi all, I am gold ninja and I live in Knoxville, TN, i am a newbie to MDing. Actually my dad bought me a metal detector in 1977, and I loved the thrill of hunting with it then, but have not held one since. Now, I just hesitantly bought a GBPro off of e bay for $355 today. I really didn't think I was gonna win it for that price, and had anticipated buying one from Kellyco on Black Friday. Now that I won it, What worries me is if it functions properly with that low of a price, and the seller was also new to e bay. I should have it around this saturday or so. The seller gave me ten days to let him know if it works correctly, and I have 45 days for my e bay buyer protection. My question is this: Is there an easy way to test this detector out to see if it is functioning correctly, and in a timely manner? Thanks for any help I can get on this, and I look forward to getting to know some people on here.

I am supposed to create an introduction thread. Not too computer literate here so I hope I am in the right place. Would like it if somebody responds as to whether or not I am. I was surfing the net about 15 minutes ago. I was wondering how many rolls of dimes come in a bank box. Actually, I should know this for many many years ago I worked in a bank vault. The response led me here and I am glad I found it. I have many interests concerning coins, treasures, etc. Most practical, some esoteric, ethereal and mystical as evidence by my name. Hope to make some friends on here! Looks like a GREAT place to call home. Thanks !!!!

Hey friend........I just joined minutes ago. i am a few miles south of Philadelphia, Pa

Garage Sale Master

Hi everyone- I am a Garage Sale junkie. I live outside of Atlanta. I love the hunt and find. I do have a metal detector, but have yet to use it. I found it at a garage sale. I found this sight trying to identify a punch bowl set that I purchased at an estate sale. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it very much.

I never hardly post anything, mostly just read but I have a little experience with pressed glass, depression glass, etc. If you have a pic I can try to help you or you might post in collectible glass section.

Hey I am from Columbia SC and I just started hunting a few weeks ago...I believe this may be the best hobby ever...like golf but no stress from bad balls...plus the chance of finding something awesome...speaking of which I posted some pics in What is it? Hello fellow hunters and collectors. I unfortunately do not live in an area where detecting would do any good. I live in northwest Montana. There is no old settlements or wars or beaches here. There is hardly new ones. lol. My treasure hunting and passion lives on the internet. I am a modest coin and currency collector. And finding that next treasure is what I live for. Morgan Silver Dollars are my favorite. Although recently I have been finding treasure in whats called "Junk Drawer" lots on ebay. buying bulk junk and finding something worth a lot is fun. Enough rambling.....off to the searching.
