Thanks,

Hey everyone. Just moved to Las Vegas from Chicago and with all the talk about how Nevada has more gold than any other state, I'm ready to start looking for some. Don't have a detector yet, but planning on getting the Garrett AT Gold. Any opinions or suggestions are always appreciated. Went to a Southern Nevada Gold Prospectors club meeting & plan to join at the next one. They have 3 claims that club members can prospect on. I've heard stories of detectors being confiscated & fines for detecting in places where it's not allowed, so please point me to some good legal spots around Vegas if you know any. Thanks & I look forward to learning a lot from all the experienced swingers on the forum. So many great threads. Keep 'em comin'!

Hello, another detecting newbie. I live in FL and my hubby & I decided to get serious about metal detecting. So we did a lot of research and visited a local dealer who set us up with 2 good models. Previously, we didn't spend too much on the one we had, something from a discount box store. Needless to say, never got into it with that thing. I have the Titan 9000 and am really just getting the hang of it. I find that even tweaking the settings I can't go into moist sand without a LOT of false beeps. I look forward to learning more about detecting, not just in ocean areas but anywhere.

Hey Everyone, I live in the Tampa area of Florida. I am new to detecting and I purchased a Garrett AT Pro in February. I paid for the machine the third day with a man's 14k gold ring with 15 diamonds that spelled "GT", 14g. I used the AT Pro for three months before I actually got out some of my G-MA's old old gold. WOW, I read an article about how the AT Pro picked up on individual links in chains but had to see for my self. 35-37 was the display reading(that's foil). Armed with this new info, I went out on a mission to dig every single target. WOW, again. In the high tide line from the last storm we had, I found about 1000 pieces of can and a diamond platinum ring. This is the best first machine I could have asked for and now it's time to upgrade. I have an auction on ebay to sell my garrett and was wanting to post on this site. Some help with posting would be appreciated. Anyone knows anyone who wants a at pro with TONs of extras go to ebay.. thanks D

Hi - I am new to this group and live in Germantown TN - I have not done much hunting yet - but will soon! I have found some coins in an attic where I was conducting an estate sale and found a few pieces of decorative metal on some land by my house. I love digging for bottles and any treasure! Looking for a hunting buddy or two to dig around with me in the Germantown area. I have been a picker since the age of 10 and love finding great pieces of antique furniture to restore and just love anything old. Would love to hear from anyone in my area!

Hey out there, I'm a new MDer from Western Ma. I've had my AT Pro about a week now. Still getting a feel for it but like it so far. Not much in the way of finds. Just some scrap metal, a few pull tabs, nails, 2 dimes and 2 pennies. At least I know it works! It's a rush finding a coin, even if it's only a penny. Only a few thousand more to pay off my detector lol. Looking forward to many more adventures.

Hello from Central Connecticut! After a long hiatus, I've experienced a renewed, avid interest in metal detecting. A colleague turned me on to TreasureNet.com and I'm finding it be a terrific community of enthusiasts and a fantastic knowledge-base, for amateur coin-shooters like me! So glad to be here!

Hi all, i am new to both this forum and detecting. Live in Maryland so probably no hope of hunting on public land without a permit but the websites never give instructions on how to get the thing. I am very excited to hit the beach areas near Fenwick Island this fall though.

Hi from sunny Spain. My name is Chris and my wife is Mary. We live on the coast in Sothern Spain. I used to detect on ploughed fields and beaches in the UK, but have not been out with a detector for over 15 years. Now due to where we live I want to get back into detecting. We have hundered of miles of beaches full of tourists around where we live, and I have ever seen anybody out with a detector...could be heaven...and once I find the right machine I will let you all know

Hello treasure hunters, I am fairly new to metal detecting and live in the Myrtle Beach area. I love to treasure hunt and research history and ghost towns looking for places to hunt. I have a Tereso sand shark, my very first day hunting was at the beach. I brought home a bucket full of tent stakes and bottle caps. Haha Before I left with my bucket I came across a horse shoe about two feet down. It has yet to bring me luck for a big find but will keep searching. I am searching for people in my area who love to hunt, it would be nice to find someone to go with.
