Am I missing something, or wasn't the point of the joke that Obama is a lying guy (according to many conservatives) from Africa (according to Birthers)? I must be missing where any of that is offensive. Every politician ever has been caught lying, and if he were from Africa (which I do NOT believe) he'd be African.

That is precisely why I want them gone! When I am told by a candidate during an election that my taxes/insurance costs, etc will not increase, then when elected candidate votes against his/her word, and my taxes, insurance, etc increase, they should be tried. It should be a criminal offense to lie to encourage votes during a candidacy. It is vote buying and vote buying should be illegal.

I agree with your point, but there are much more egregious examples. How about the free cell phones being touted in Detroit? If they can get away with hawking that as part of their platform, then any politician can surely get away with lying.

Obama bashing is allowed on TNET. You should have seen how upset I got about Obama being compared to Hitler. I had to let that one go...and a few others. It is flat out a racist joke; however, it is okay if it is about Obama.

If you don't think calling the president "African" is racist than that is fine. I believe he is an American. And that calling a black American an African is a racist remark. You are the moderator it is your call in the end.
