I am thinking a number of trips will be required before you will be comfortable, because next trip or two you'll find more symbols and have more puzzles. Also the time of day could be integral in revealing certain sun/shadow symbols.

GOONER, YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT "A NUMBER OF TRIPS" UP THERE. THEY ARE NUMBERED
ALREADY... BEFORE MY HEAT STROKE AND SUBSEQUENT BRAIN CYST, I HAD MADE OVER
100 TRIPS UP AND DOWN THAT MOUNTAIN. SINCE THE HEAT STROKE, I HAVE MADE ONE
TRIP AND FAILED TO MAKE IT TO THE TOP, AND COULD NOT GET OUT OF BED FOR 3 DAYS
AFTER THAT ATTEMPT.

I AM FORTUNATE THAT I FOUND A FRIEND WHO IS MORE INTERESTED IN HISORY THAN
TREASURE. HE TOOK ME ON THE LAST TRIP AND WILL BE TAKING ME ON THIS NEXT TRIP
AND IS TAKING HIS CHAINSAW IN HOPES OF UNCOVERING THE BLUFF CARVINGS.

I BELIEVE THAT GOD, IN HIS COMPASSION, BROUGHT SAM INTO MY LIFE FOR THIS REASON
AND MANY MORE. I HAD NO HOPE OF MAKING THE TRIP ALONE. HIS INTEREST IS THE SAME AS MINE... TO STUDY THE AREA AND DISCOVER THE HISTORY OF THE MINE AND TO FIGURE OUT IF
IT WILL BE WORTH THE COST OF OPENING IT UP. IT WILL BE VERY COSTLY TO OPEN UNLESS
WE FIND A BACK ENTERANCE.

I MADE A BELIEVER, THAT HE UNDERSTANDS THE UNDERTAKING AND HAZARDS OF THE SITE,
AFTER OUR LAST TRIP. HIS YOUNG SON WENT WITH US LAST TIME AND SAM SAYS THAT HE
TALKS ABOUT THE TRIP AND ALL OF THE BEAR SIGNS. IT IS A BIG ONE, IT STRIPS BARK FROM TREES AND POWERLINE POLES ABOUT EIGHT FEET HIGH. SAM DIDN'T THINK HE NEEDED HIS GUN ON THE LAST TRIP, BUT HE ASSURES ME THAT HE WILL HAVE IT WITH HIM THIS TIME.

I TOLD HIM TO SAVE THE LAST BULLET FOR ME IF I RUN OUT IF SHE COMES AT ME AND I RUN OUT. HE PROMISED TO SAVE TWO..... I KNOW THAT I WILL NOT RUN, I HAVE TO STAND MY GROUND OR DIE TRYING.

AND STILL, I LOOK FORWARD TO THE TRIP.

THE JANUARY EXPEDITION IS STILL ON BUT MAY BE A FEBRUARY EXPEDITION.
SAM IS WORKING TO FREE UP SOME TIME AND I HAVE HAD A FEW HEALTH PROBLEMS LATELY.
WE HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE READY TO GO. I HOPE TO HAVE SOME NEW AND INTERESTING
