TWO SIGNS LEFT TO I.D. MINE, AS SPANISH, FRENCH, OR JESUIT.

Weekender took this photo on instinct alone. I asked him about it and he said that something caught his eye and he took the shot!!!

I hope that it sets back to upright position. If not, tilt your head counterclockwise...
That thing got me starring at it too, but somehow i cant figure it out,its got the power.:dontknow:

Fourteen years ago I crawled down thirty feet of rope, on a fifty foot bluff to land in that small landing, and walk out on the narrow ledge to chalk in some carvings that were carved into the flat white stone in the foreground.

We were looking for two dimensional signs...

When I stepped down, my right foot was inches from the three dimensional symbol about knee high which was standing in the same place, then just as it is today.

It looks as clean today as it was back then.

It is an owl, facing the bluff. Both ears are undamaged body is short.

Back then, I knew nothing about owl symbols, but I still should have seen it.
Fortunately, Weekender had his instincts in gear, without knowing exactly what was important, even if he didn't know exactly what it was.

It is on the right side of the center of the photo, dark with white streaks.

Credit to Weekender!

Ok, if you are looking for the mines, most of them, they were following a mineral vein/ contact point that was found on the bottom side of the outcroppings. Some pinched out and you will just see the shelf/over hang part that's left over. Sometimes a small trench was left up to the backfilled part, it will look like the start of a small ravine, but it's generally pretty straight and will have some sort of markers near it, sometimes a large Y shaped tree..

Many of the mines will not have a well worn trail to them any more. They wiped those clean. However there are usually well worn trails down below them along the creek bottoms up to a few hundred feet away. So along these trails below, you will find markers that point to the mines, like a big propped boulder that is wedge shaped on top , or just any large pointing type boulder or alignment off those trails, or a leaning boulder against another that is has a wedge shaped pointing hoyo. You will see these while walking the well worn trails anywheres from 5 to 30 feet off the trail. The other way will be large out of place or strange looking pointer boulders that are in or along the creek that is next to the well worn trail, and you leave the trail there and follow any out of place marker from these. Look for hoyos along the trail, either side and alignments coming off them. They put many of the ore/bullion caches right by the well worn trails down below for quik/ease of recovery or whatever, but many of the mines they covered the trail to them. You find them from the trails.

The last trip out, we covered a lot of ground and we followed a half dozen or more tree signs that led us to several large rock pointers that no longer have trails, thanks to the bad ice storm about ten to twelve years ago.
The forest is filled with new trees and the forest floor is littered with rotting trees that fell or broke into smaller pieces.

As enriching as that last trip was, intellectually, we saw more moss than anything else.

I'm trying to get as many of the photos into the last chapter as I can.

The large owl released much more information, that changed the dynamics of the hunt...

That will be explained in the book.
Far too much to be exposed here.

Weekender has been instrumental in documenting our finds. Photos like this last one made most of the writing possible. Time/date stamps have become the most important issue for me to close the site and the book.

Good Clean water and lots of it every day, Lots of Prayer's and Good Doctors it was only 1/2 mile to the Hosp Prairie View in ada, transferred to Heart Hosp in OKC on Sunny Lane. Couldn't put 2 words together. Seen my first Spanish carving !/2 mile East of Ozark 1962 It was On a round knee high boulder a capital ( A ) it was sitting lodged in a crevis Overlooking the Arkansas River sharp point pointed to the River, Spanish seemed to use natural points when possible to hide stuff. God Bless all of you folks

DSTY, that was good fortune, to be
So close to ER.

As for Ozark...
lots of stories like that come up like yours.
Area rich in signs and symbols, a regular hotbed of activities, and only fifty miles from mine, as the crow flies, more like a hundred with all of those ups and downs, and twists and turns.....

With all of the storms, flooding, fires and earthquakes, that have been hitting The North American continent, it wouldn't hurt most of us too much to get down on our knees for a few minutes.

I don't care what you're religion is.
Just pray for one another.

We make up a lot of folks when you get to counting, especially when you count the readers that don't post here!

Just take a moment and do it!

Put your knees in your slippers if it helps. I know that it helps me.

We have many friends that might keep hope alive till the Lord gets help to them!

May God bless all of you!

Cudos to Weekender! Very good instinct! Started photographing areas with lots of panoramas. It amazes me how many times I go home review my photos and say "How the heck did I miss that?" Shooting a panorama and saving it with the cords you shot it from reveals a lot and saves making multiple trips back out. Another hint I hope others use. Take your topo to a print shop and have them enlarge it 8 times it's original size. Get rolls of plastic from the art supply store. Use several layers if needed. Make your marks on the plastic. Being a larger map things don't get to the point of being a jumble of lines & dots & scribbles. Markers on one sheet of plastic, paths or where markers are pointing on another, misc waypoints on another. They overlay & the best part is if you want to show the map show it without the plastic layers so info isn't there or with one plastic sheet with the info you want to show. The stuff I use is Grafix Clear-Lay Plastic Film .003 thick. I buy the 40" x 12' rolls. When getting your topos enlarged black & white should cost you around $20 +/- color costs around $50 up. Hope this helps some of you out.

Again Weekender cudos! You've got great instinct & good eyes brother!

If my TOPO program was a little bit less contrary, I would try that with my printer....
I have doubled the size of my map, once upon a time, but I have doubts about getting 8Xs...

Nonetheless, it's a great idea!

Yep, this one is off to a 90* counterclockwise twist like the last one. can't figure out why. but.

(Okay, it came up right on my iPhone)

Who is going to figure this one out.... Weekender and I didn't catch it right off either. Something isn't natural...

It redefined everything in the photo when I saw it!!

Yeah, well the reason they called it an "I-Phone" was simple. "Incompatible Phone" just didn't have the same sexy "ring" to it.

Now, back to being serious ... the I-phone, just like every other phone, is a bit more difficult to correct than a computer image uploaded. Pull the image into your photo editor and rotate it then save it ...

Image1.jpg

I posted this one on my laptop and it was the one that flipped it over after I posted it.
Weekender photographed it with his iPhone, and down loaded it to my laptop then I posted it from there...

It was upright until I posted it to TNET.

It came out upright on my iPhone, but not on the laptop.....

Incompatible!!! Yes, but maybe not it's fault.

Now.... have you noticed what is man made, that redefined the rest of the photo?

Maybe the left rock is a right profile of a face and neck? Maybe the two pointy rocks on the top right signify the owl?

Same here. Tried a pgm that was supposed to print a large picture on several sheets of paper. I won't mention how much of a pain it was just to get a bundle of scotch taped garbage. That's why you need to use a print shop. I lucked out finding this shop. They do excellent work & can do an enlargement while you wait! They even give me a cup of coffee while I wait!!! I tried a Staples once they told me it'd be two days and their people didn't seem all that qualified. A 20 dollar bill is cheaper than all the time effort & energy expended doing it yourself!

Good work, MIB. I believe ( mostly because I was able to walk around it and put my feet on the ground and touch the stones) that it is two men speaking.

There are more than two stones on top of the head on the right. It is a circle of stones that look, to me, to be a crown!

I missed the crown when we were there, but thanks to Weekender seeing those stones and photographing them and loading his photos on to my laptop for the book!!
A very big deal, for me!...

I could see stones ( six or seven that I could see), that are part of a crown!!

This shot was made after we passed through the hallway and that area is rich with symbolism... faces, a waterfall, the hallway is full of symbolism that I have only seen through his camera! The true beauty of the concealment with and within that area is very hard to notice when standing there.

I wish that we could have seen these marvels while we were there!!!

This part of the book has been quite a challenge, and may be edited several times. I have rewritten it and edited it several times already and I still feel that I haven't done it justice...

That is very interesting about the crown. I guess I can see a mouth on the right side now that you mention it. I also noticed it looked like some sort of rim, but it's hard to make out certain things in pictures and I did not know what to make of that. Very cool stuff! I would love to walk alongside you and learn, but I guess that's sort of what we are doing here with you sharing what you do. Thanks for sharing!

That is what we are all doing...

I have been learning from Weekender as he lets his natural thoughts and instincts guide us, for these last three trips to the site.

I think that I was lucky to find my site, and it has made me a permanent student.

You are correct about walking through it. Some of the things that we could see, made it possible to see more in the pics.

Until I saw Weekender's pic, I thought the head with the crown was facing off to the right.
I got a double lesson, when I saw Weekender's view point and could see the crown and that "band" around his head!

Weekender has become the teacher!

Where the teeth are on the crown up top, try a different view point where you can see it better and look for the back(spine) or tail of a dragon or dino image. (the teeth of the crown will be the spikes along the back or tail much like a stegosaurus)

Quinoa, there are three slightly different photos of that shot. I believe that Weekender shot a burst photo. They all are from the same spot.
I think that each one of them show different aspects of it better on one shot then another, but those are the only angle that we have.
I doubt that I will ever make another trip out there. I've said that before, and returned, but Weekender and I have seen the same things that caused us to come to the same conclusion. It is simply, too dangerous, and we both have families that need us to remain among the living. $$$

Since that circle is on top of the bluff, the folks that own the upper area might do some exploring and pass some new info on to us, and i will certainly share it, if they will allow.

For what it's worth, i think that we may have been very close to something of some value or importance on this last trip, and that is hard to walk away from. The decision was not an easy one to make.

Still, plenty more to uncover on this thread. don't blink twice....
