TWO SIGNS LEFT TO I.D. MINE, AS SPANISH, FRENCH, OR JESUIT.

Bob, there were a lot more trees than we recorded.

Other than the first one, they all had one thing in common.
They all pointed in the direction that we were headed.

There are more than we collectively recorded. At some point, we finally just saw them as road signs pointing the way to the next tree, or trees, as they appeared.

Weekender, simply recorded our trip. Our path was inertly guided by them, as though they were telling us that we were in the proper lanes.

I had a plan to show Weekender our path, but he could see the path was lined with trees, and he recorded it.

Relatively young trees pointed out, very old things that were made of stone, long long ago, and buried deep in a mountain side.

It didn't always make sense, but it almost always worked out.

Now, about that first one.
That odd looking root that looped around was growing under a large flat rock, that held it down until it reached the edge.

It turned to the sunshine and started growing upward..... then something of great force moved the stone away from the vault...

It has been an amazing ride!

Mikel, Do you have access to a CD or DVD burner on any of your machines? This might help you a bunch, it did me. Take your photos and save them to a CD or DVD. I use one for each site or subject. Then I use word to make a file with notes for the photos. Like DSC0001 pic of me falling on my butt. Now you have your photos on a nearly indestructible media with all your notes in one place. Makes it real easy to remember what where etc. You can add to it as needed. I've been doing this since the 90s and can still read the early ones that were done on Windows 98 easily. Another plus is being able to add scanned docs or research materials to the disk. Out of all the stuff I've added to my computer the disk burner & doc scanners are money well spent!

B-man, you are right on all points.
I have been keeping files on discs for as long as I can remember being on a computer.

I have copies in other places, in case I suffer a complete loss. My biggest unforeseen SNAFU has been the power switch breaking on my older laptop, and that is somewhat fixable.

My maps are connected to my photos and GPS systems are synced with both. Plus four backup thumb drives scattered thru two countries.

Fear of crashing a computer is a driving force in my life, since my memory fell apart from my heat stroke, ten years ago.

It was a hard road to follow, and I'm still playing " connect the dots" with memories.

All I have to do is remember who has what...

Good! Didn't know if you'd thought down that road. It's really lousy when you lose two years of work. I lucked out finding help recovering my data. Oh, one tool I found very useful is a SATA/IDE to USB adapter. You can plug a HD into it and then stick it in a USB port to transfer stuff back & forth. Especially useful for when your laptop dies.

I hear you about the heat stroke and how it changes you for the worse! Used to be able to work all day in 112 now I'm lucky to get an hour in 105. After mine it seemed like people took it as a joke and never paid serious attention to it. Hope this gives you some help to get to your goal! Take care!

Thanks, Boogeyman.

And yes, most folks cannot imagine how much you loose when you have a heatstroke.

I managed to keep my job for two years, but I almost cost a fellow employee, his life. Thanks to a special safety protocol that was developed to double check my work before releasing it, he was safe.

For me, I had to make the choice to give in to my doctor's orders and end my work.

Those who knew me before and watched me struggle afterward, came to understand the importance of water.

As I told my doctor, who knew that I had been an EMT for years before,
"It doesn't look the same, from the inside, looking out. '

Safety protocol for everything, now...

Wow! You made my jaw drop! "It doesn't look the same, from the inside, looking out. " Never heard it put that way. No truer words.

Heat starts taking assets from the brain. I was trained to get ahead of the damage for my patients.
I don't know how I figured it out, without knowing that it was a heatstroke.
My subconscious mind kept going through emergency protocols...
cool
Drink

high flow O2...
I had a torch, opened a spare O2 tank in shop, turned off power to shop and opened the bottle till the fog cleared up.
Didn't tell the doctor that last part... wasn't medical grade!

I never thought that it was a heat stroke... I only treated symptoms until I was ahead of the game...

I don't think that anyone
can tell what it is, based on OSHA TRAINING.

It really doesn't look the same from the inside, looking out...

Best hope, train those around you!!!

Here is a view a little more behind it, after reading some other posts, I am wondering if
this is an "A" frame alignment, the diamond shaped rock.

I am not familiar with the history of your area, one photo is not much to work with.
Looking at the stone, my first thought is to simply travel in the direction of the center line of the circle.

I see, what appears to be a duck or a goose near the bottom left corner of the photo.
It is looking toward the north west, if this is correct, there may be a connection to ancient Chinese explorers, but there are still many other references possible.

I strongly recommend studying your own local history first and foremost.

There is much more to learn than the little bit of knowledge, based in my area, that I have learned.

Good luck in your hunting.

THIS IS THE BEST DESCRIPTION I HAVE EVER SEEN I'M SERIOUS WHEN I SAY PATENT THIS QUOTE MAKE IT A PIN OR SOME KIND OF T SHIRT THINK OF HOW MANY PEOPLE LIKE YOU OR STROKE, DEMENTIA, ALZHEIMER'S, AND MANY MORE THAT JUST CAN'T PUT DESCRIBE THEIR CHANGE THEY KNOW IT'S DIFFERENT JUST CANT PUT IT IN WORDS AS YOU DID. anyways just a suggestion I think it could help ppl

Thank you Nwaher.
All I said was the truth as I saw it...

Nearly half my life in EMS, I probably treated fifty or more patients for sun stroke and many more for typical stroke related problems.

It is true for all. I just thought I had just gotten a little bit hot, till I couldn't keep up with my normal schedule.

I had heat stroke August 23rd 2010, still not over it, had a heart attack at the same time

DSTY, that's probably enough to kill most men. I'm guessing that you got help right away.... a heatstroke, unattended, can live a healthy man!

That's probably what killed all of those folks that died from dehydration out in the deserts, once you get dehydrated your blood thickens and the heart can't push blood, death is sure to follow.

Weekender took this photo on instinct alone. I asked him about it and he said that something caught his eye and he took the shot!!!

I hope that it sets back to upright position. If not, tilt your head counterclockwise...

Yeah, I have looked at it for at least an hour. It's really hard to miss on the laptop. So is the up side down 7 that is above it.
