TWO SIGNS LEFT TO I.D. MINE, AS SPANISH, FRENCH, OR JESUIT.

My last outing took more out of me than I care to admit.
I feel as if my bones are on fire and everything between my bones and my skin feels as if I'm being electrocuted.

My skin feels like it is being peeled from my body.

Yesterday I opened my front door to let an air conditioner repair man come in. He had not knocked, as he had his hands over his ears, and was still in pain from a device that I rigged up to stop cats from using my parking spot as a litter box.
I apologized for his pain and told him to navigate around it.
He asked me how I stood it. I explained to him that I hear that sound, only much louder in my head and cannot tell if it is working unless I see people grab their ears and run.

I don't think he quite understood. It's difficult for most folks to grasp or to understand why I take the medications that I must take to tolerate the constant pain, yet put myself thru it without losing my mind.

And, still I go out into the woods to seek out the mysteries of history that are all around me/us.

The thrill of discovery outweighs the pain just enough to tolerate short day trip expeditions, but the heat leaves me in bed for twenty hours a day for a few weeks each time.

I tolerate the existence in this prison, so I can live for a day or two out there where history is waiting to be discovered.

Well, I forced myself out of the house for a short trip to the to the creek with Jessie to fly fish. Jessie has called three or four times this week. He has been having a lot to deal with lately, and really needed a break.

When I called him he would have jumped thru the phone to get here if it were possible. He was running some errands for his grandmother and he was trying to get here so fast that he had to call her while we were on our way.

She is his moral compass and was asking what he was doing that was going to be late.... He said that he was with me and she just said okay.

She knows that our time together helps him to cope with the rest.

We started thru a field to get to a good fishing hole and got trapped in a patch of stinging nettles ( Ozark cactus ) backed out an got into a swimming hole and took our pocket knife and scraped our legs under water to stop the stinging.

Drove to our next best hole and the state is building two new bridges...
One at each end of the fishing hole.

We finally found water and fifteen minutes later Jessie's bad arm gave out.

At least I got outside for a while and got to help Jessie find north again.

It was good for the both of you then. What's the temp. Up there?

The temp. Here is 95° with the humidity it factors 108. The a/c went out in my tractor. So I'm not doing anything except early morning and late in the evening. I live on the river but haven't fished in months. I need to do some dredging and that's no bad when it's hot. By the time I set up the pumps. I would wore out. So I guess that means I have time to study.

Yeah it was good for both of us. It was too hot to fish... Even the water was too hot to cool down in.

I have been slowly clearing out a spot in a stream about a hundred yards upstream from where we fished yesterday. The stream joins the creek and is the confluence of three ancient flood planes.

The spot that I cleared last fall was the lowest point of bedrock and has a small deep channel. That channel was ready to dredge with my hand powered "Gold Hammer".
The hwy dept. Beat me by building the temporary bridge on top of it.

I hope that they at least break down some of the hard pack that has been so hard for me to dig in.

Too hot to worry about it now.

We'll, the weather has been ideal for romping in the woods lately. However, I haven't felt up to romping farther than the mailbox.

I've been waiting for the landowner to get a GPS and help her to learn to navigate around the property. There is a fair chance to locate a cache, and much more land than I can cover.

Hope to feel better by then.

Seventeen hours plus three and a half just trying to open the file without loosing the first ten hours of re-editing.

I think, hope, and pray that this is the last big hurdle to jump over.

Tomorrow I refresh the 47 page instruction booklet on sending it to the copyright folks in the Library of Congress for eight month copyright search. I see a long phone call in my near future, with a lot of stupid questions about their instructions.

Wish me luck, or better yet, prayers for success.

Once I have their case number I can show it to possible publishers.

It's getting real now.

HOWDY MIKEL,

I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN ALL IT TAKES TO GET A BOOK WRITTEN, AND PUBLISHED IF I HADN'T KEPT UP WITH WHAT YOU ARE DOING. IT'S WELL WORTH WAITING FOR, SO I DO WISH YOU LUCK, AND WILL ALSO BE PRAYING FOR YOUR SUCCESS.

Now the time to be getting them last pictures from the woods Mikel. Good luck on it and God Bless
Bob

Thanks Homar and Bob. I added this week I have worked 53 hours (30 for regular folks). Book is politically correct and I have it on 3 flash drives. I'm pretty happy.
I guess I'll have to start back at the beginning of the copyright page to get the instructions and help number, but it's worth it

Homar, if I had known before hand, I'm not sure if I would have started it or not.

Without the registration process, it could have been in the hands of a publisher by now. The registration protects me in foreign markets. The title alone should do that.

This is all virgin soil to me. I'm learning as I go.

By the way, your encouragement and your PMs have not gone un-noted, nor undocumented. They have helped in so many ways. I hope you will remember them when you get to read it, I know each one in my heart, where they are safe from my cheap wiring harness that seems to short out my memories.

Thank you

HOWDY MIKEL,

I'VE BEEN A LITTLE BUSY, NOT HAVING TIME TO SIT AND POST, JUST TIME ENOUGH TO READ, AND GIVE A FEW LIKES HERE AND THERE. THANKS FOR ALL THE KIND WORDS, JUST GLAD TO BE ABLE TO SHARE IDEAS HOPING THEY CAN BE OF ANY USE.

YOU HAVE PROBABLY HEARD ME TELL OTHERS THAT I REALLY HAVE NO INTREST IN READING BOOKS ON THE LDM. THIS IS BECAUSE I HAVE NO QUESTIONS ON THAT STORY, BUT I AM ALWAYS HUNGRY FOR NEW TREASURE STORIES THAT I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF. TOPPED WITH YOUR WAY WITH WORDS, I ALREADY KNOW THAT I AM GOING TO ENJOY YOUR BOOK.

I DON'T THINK I COULD WRITE A BOOK MYSELF, I TEND TO RAMBLE, AND GET AHEAD OF MYSELF, OR FORGET WHAT I WAS TRYING TO GET ACROSS. TOP THAT WITH ALL THE HASSLE OF GETTING IT ON THE SHELVES, I WILL LEAVE IT TO SOME ONE ELSE MORE QUALIFIED, AND PATIENT THAN MYSELF.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU START A NEW THREAD OF YOUR NEW QUEST, I WOULDN'T WANT TO MISS IT.

SU AMIGO,
HOMAR P. OLIVAREZ

I was working on an older computer, that has been locked up for longer than I could recall.
It sprang to life ( partially) and I found some of my early work on my site, from way back, when it seemed so simple, with an earlier and less complicated TOPO map.
It reminded me of my simplistic way of looking at a very complex site. Even now I know that my mind may never truly comprehend all that I have seen there.
My heart yearns for my legs to take my eyes to see what my mind will never truly understand.

I think that those early days of discovery, may have been the most rewarding of all.

There is a overload of information that most will never fully understand. As long as the end results are what you want. Then you have nothing to worry about. God bless My Friend.

I went with my son in law, to look at a 20 acre tract of forest that he bought for a hunting get away.
We were there for about 10 minutes before we started down a trail where he had put out 50# of corn a few days earlier. Most was gone, and he was happy.

While he was looking for tracks to size up his target, I was looking at a tree that had been bent and trimmed. I walked around to see if I could see a trail, while he talked about deer hunting and tracking.
In less than 5minute I found a trail that I could follow from one bent tree to the next and again to the next...

Still listening, I decided to test his interest in signs and symbols. His interest peaked when I asked him if there was a spring where the third bent tree was pointed. He asked how I knew that, as I still had my ear plugs in and couldn't hear it.... " how did you know there was water over the edge of the drop off?"

I had him hooked. He was ready to listen. I told him the age of the trees +/- 15 years.
Place is not too far to drive and he wants to explore it,
As do I, clearly for different reasons, but we both can learn from one another.

It will be good to work on my basics again. I think that I saw a Bo de arc tree,
Maybe I can harvest a good limb for a bow while the sap is still up. I'm going to try my hand at making a bow and a set of arrows with hand chipped arrowheads this winter.
I'll even try to make the string from horsehair and pine sap. I'm all in on this project

I hope fall lasts longer than two weeks like it has for the last few years.

Here's to new adventures!

Deer hunting is what got me started. Noticed to much out of place. Then instead of deer hunting started to try and follow the trails and see where they took me. Learn lots of history and have had fun trying to unravel what was going on here that's not in the history books. Always learning.
