Pages 14 thru 21 of Kenworthy's spanish monuments & trailmarkers talks about the U shapes on mountain markers like the ones in the square on this photo. Looks promising.

Combined with that Hoyo some definite possibilities.

There could be 2 statues in the area of the photo. Would they just be religious symbols with no importance to the treasure trail?

If it is a treasure trail it has yet to show itself as such.
But that is half the fun, figuring out if it is or not.

Basically the signs will change from the normal trail type marks and become smaller and more complicated quickly.
You may even find several signs sending you in all different directions, instead of where you need to go.

It actually depends on what one considers "treasure".
And an individual's own definition can change as he goes along.
There's one trail follower on the forum who is presently following
trails to develop a stronger connection to the Ancients. One day
that person's "treasure" could change from knowledge to physical artifacts.
It just depends on what you seek.

Hadji you asked..

what makes it a treasure trail to begin with?

In my experience the classic layout varies quite a bit over time and location.
However the signs remain consistent that has been proven over and over.

what I am getting at is in the Classic sense, capital C,
The Janus Monument, marks the true beginning of the Royal Treasure Trail
This is followed by the Alpha and it can be huge distances away on the trail
marked by Ordinary Trail Markers. So when people say all you found is a typical Trail Marker
now you know that typical Trail Markers ARE found along the Treasure Trail. It can be no other way
Now NOT all Trail Markers are Treasure Trail Markers of course. Thousand more trails than mines and caches.
Next in line is the Omega Monument, smaller than the Alpha, making it with some experience easier to identify it for what it really is. From the Omega, which will tell you Distance and Direction..the next sign may well be underground. If there is one more visible above ground sign after the Omega. It will be a sign telling you that the next sign IS underground.
Some Omegas do not spell out distance or direction , but in the Supers one Omega, an awesome heart rock on a pedestal pointed right to the sign not more than 20 feet away. I am still trying to find out how far away from the last sign to start digging looking for the underground sign. It might well be the exact distance from the heart rock to the last sign....that would be a perfect way to spell it out with saying a dang thing, if you didnt speak the language.
hope this helps

Well I respectfully disagree, another member had posted photos of an interesting rock 'face' and the member you are referring to simply said that in his experience, it was something. You then questioned his experience, which is not what the topic is here. Do you not have an opinion of that photo?

Nope, Roy. He / she just likes to complain and opinionate. ;D

Well that is too bad; personally I am not sure what to make of those 'U' shapes, whether it amounts to trail markers or is simply natural. I am not so good at picking these things out, especially from photos. Can we all complain and opinionate? ;D Dad-blast this cold arctic air has arrived two months early! In my opinion, it is just too early for winter to set in, even here.

This forum is in no way shape or form an "open forum"

as long as you don't step on any toes you are allowed to play ball, when you ask a sane question or bring up a legitamate point they delete your posts.

So, is the topic here questioning me...because I asked a question?

You appear to be "guilty" of the same thing I did. But, that is OK...because this is an open forum. You don't want to talk about the topic, you simply want to lecture. But again...that's OK.

You'll notice my question was never addressed/answered....but then again, that seems to be OK. Three or four other posters can take the discussion further off topic by lambasting the question asker...but hey....that's to be expected and OK

Lecture? If you read my last post, I did express my opinion on the stone formation, which is that I can't really tell what it is. You still have not even addressed what the topic is on, so I guess you are not going to ever get to the subject matter, it seems you are here to attack. I don't know why your question was not answered, perhaps that person has you on ignore. If you are getting any 'lecture' here it is because your first post was in the form of contesting the person posting their opinion by demanding what experience they had. A bit rude, and yep that IS a lecture. :nono:

Were you lamar in another life?

greetings argonauts,
I have received some pms saying that the shallow water is getting toxic again,
Please dont forget that I ask you all to place the disrupter's on ignore. That request still
holds. If these guys act like serious true treasure hunters then we can think about taking them
off the ignore list otherwise when they go off their meds, :help: and act out, just click the "iggie" button.
lets get back to the theme of the thread please.

Sounds good to me. I keep our Florida friend on "ignore". I'm beginning to wonder if he / she is an IRS narc. They are constantly asking people to prove they find anything and that sure sounds like one. And this new poster (or at least this new user name) started insulting Old Dog right on the get-go. He may be lamar's alter ego. :laughing7:

Rangler, has the queen spoken to you yet?

This photos shows the highest state of the art for Spanish Signs.
A real centerfold .. the execution of this design is at its peak.

Pareidolia vs Paranoia
Treasure vs Trail Markers

What do you think gentlemen ? Is this a Trail Marker or a Treasure Sign

(some carne colorado for the tesoro dingos)
have fun

I can only see one photo (the bottom one) and a couple red X's.

The knot in the tree looks awesome. No idea what it means though...
