This greek word ,meaning "parallel understanding". is used to understand the seeing faces in clouds or Mother Mary in a fried tortillia.
A more modern word -Apophenia is the experience of seeing meaningful patterns or connections in random or meaningless data. The term was coined in 1958 by Klaus Conrad,[1] who defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections" accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness".
/(ed note: unmotivated seeing, is like saying they had no predetermined shape or idea in mind when looking and seeing this unexpected shapes in the pareidolia. If however as a noob th'r you get motivated to find these shapes your brain will help you find them.
here is a type of trap, am I sure was set by the code makers....keep you trapped inside the realm of pareidolia never to escape to find the real signs and symbols. So what you have here is the fact that all matter breaks down to the Atomic level and beyond, but in that breakdown from the molecular level we understand that in this Universe- matter had to obey the Laws of Physics. It is those Laws that set the patterns in all elements whether it is stone wood or clouds. In the creation, and subsequent erosion the basic nature of the common molecules set the wear patterns, that Mother Nature 'unconsciously' made shapes that looks like faces, animals, and other things.

This idea of Pareidolia was well known by the Arcane Practitioners of Alchemy and well studied by the Higher Educators inside the Jesuits attended colleges i.e. University of Salamanca, Spain circa 1500 AD onward.
They code makers knew of this concept and intentionally set out to carve monuments in the shape of animals and human faces. they knew that the human mind is trained to see and recognize a face more readily that any other shape, having been imprinted with this shape since birth.
Once the plan was set that the shape of main symbols in the Alpha Monuments were to be faces, and animals in general, shapes that will look like they could have been made my mother nature.
They created confirmation makes that would bring the symbol out of the realm of pareidolia or what I call "background camouflage". The reason for confirmation marks was the knowledge of pareidolia! They had to be able bring the monuments out of hiding with confirmation marks.
So if you see "things, faces ect" in rocks or monuments in stone, it good, but IF you want to read real Spanish Treasure Code then, look for the animals, faces ect, but THEN look for confirmation marks before you waste hours marking up "parallel" ghost images. While it is good practice to a point, one must learn to be more discrimination.
It is actually on the learning curve however. I noticed when I taught some one to 'see' the signs that where optical illusions, or the shadow signs hidden in plain site. Once they see the way to look at these signs, then the next step is to get carried away, lost inside pareidolia missing the true signs.
the power of this insight is the confirmation signs are the key pieces of the puzzle.
the hoyo is the highest level of authenticity. As this sign goes on to give you more data encoded in side the hoyo. It is not "treasure window" in the strict sense,sight-thus gun sight ,.for the most part lead to another sign not the goods per se. just an early understanding.

so now if anyone tells you that you just reading clouds, (pareidolia) just smile because now you know that the next step once you realize the 'power of pareidolia'to hide objects in plain site.. is to look for the confirmation signs. To separate the wheat from the chaff, the background camo from the real monument.
