Diverlynn...

What a great job you did setting this up for Peg... :o Nice work...

This will draw them in like ants to honey... super job! How can I copy it and post it to the Antique-Bottle.net forum? Any ideas? Any of you guys a member of that forum? I alread started a thread on this, so all you have to do is google up the address, "Antique-Bottles.net and go to the collectors' chat section and find the thread, "Treasure Expo" Hope I can do more for the show and for Peg...

Wayne

Did I read that correctly, Free exhibit space?

NC Brad,
YES SIR that is correct but there will b a DONATION-WHAT EVER THEY WANT TO DONATE IS FINE.
I am not doing this to make money (surprise surprise)
BUT there is a $5.00 charge to anyone who wants to see the EXPO.
The Bottom Meeting hall will hold 300 people and there will be an additional charge of $5.00 per person to attend one of the seminars given by a Guest Speaker.

Capt. Peg Leg..... Seems like this would be another good way to help fund this event... I'm an Indiana landlubber :(, and this sounds so interesting I might attend......Good Luck ;D

Great job Don...I'm really happy this is going to happen. I think chances are good that we will attend.

Jason

Donovan,
Hate to ask this in public but are you still interested in being a Guest Speaker?
I really need qualified people to give a seminar.
Dell is going to take one of the Breakout meeting rooms upstairs.
I am looking for no more than 4 people to be Guest Speakers. I will need for them to pick the time so I can shedule the time and add their names to the FLYERS.
Thanks
Peg Leg

Here is something that I thought of today.
Have any of you ever seen the BANNERS pulled behind a small airplane advertising an EVENT.
I was thinking about having this done. The plane will cover Cocoa Beach, Merritt island,, Cocoa, three times a day.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Peg Leg

I know that there is only one Holiday inn at the beach but could you add the address to the flier for me. I have a site with links to about 400 other city sites and would love to pass the flier to them to post on their calenders. Jeff

here is my site don't laugh I am just getting started.
www.etowah411.com

or better yet if you will go to my site on the left side click on city directorys you could save me alot of time by looking to see if your city is listed and just go there and post the date etc on the local calender there will be a spot where you can paste the flier. Hope this helps Peg Leg, trying to figure away to make it down for the show. Jeff

Peg,

I don't think i would waste the time with the Plane/Banner idea. Your money would go to better use by attracting your target audience of Treasure Hunters, Coin enthusiast, Metal Detectorist, etc.

You need to advertise it on other sites or create a website that is basically an event flier, to drive traffic to!

But if you are really serious, you could always lease the Goodyear Blimp!

One thing you guys havent thought of is security.if anyone is bringing any gold or silver artifacts including coins.you need to have some armed security guards around.plainclothed will work alot better.that big coin show they had in orlando at the fair grounds a few years ago.5 of the coin dealers got ripped off by robbers.it was front page news!not at the show but afterwards.they were followed by the thiefs to thier hotel rooms, gas stations, rest stops along the hiways.when they left thier cars all thier valuables got stolen.some were recovered but most have never been seen or heard of.just something to think about beforehand for any event you have that the public will know about.

UPDATE:

If anyone wants to see what is available go here:

www.hi-cocoa.com

It is a really neet place.

What do you think?

Peg Leg..
DiverLynn sent out 200 emails this morning-more to go.
Thanks
Lynn

NOT GETTING THE DISPLAYS THAT I EXPECTED
Everyone seemed interested and the response was GREAT-UNTIL I asked for a DISPLAY of some artifact's or anything connected with Treasure from the land or the sea then everything went salient.
As of right now I have 10 people that want to display some of their STUFF BUT I NEED 58 MORE.
Trez where are you with all your coins :-\ and pottery shards?????
All I am asking for is a COMMITMENT and a DONATION.
If there are those that are waiting till the last minute to make up your mind then you will be S.O.L.

Let me ask this if this event were being help in a regular Convention Center how much do you think it would cost?
Just because I am NOT chargeing does not mean this is going to be a CHEAP EVENT because it is not-BELIEVE ME.
Maybe some of the Professional Treasure Hunters on this FORUM are NOT Professional THers? It does make one wonder-it sure does me.
SEHUNTER is helping to fund this event and is even thinking about putting in a display himself.
Dell Winders is reserving a Diplay room all by himself and is paying for it all by himself.
The Public will cover all my cost but there must be something for them to see.
All I ask for is a few serious Treasure Hunters to display a few artifacts. Is this more than you guys can handle or what is the problem.
Peg Leg

Don, have you asked the McClarty museum or the Mel Fisher center about setting up displays? Rob Westrich with the state also does a really good presentation, and has some copies of artifacts that he passes around the room. Get with him and he could maybe get the state involved too, we all know how much you love those government types. :D Seriously though, Rob is a great guy and would probably jump on board give his presentation.

Aquatic Research & Recovery Group could set up a booth and show some diving pics and videos, but the stuff we found at Jupiter last year is still with the state I believe, the plan was for everyone to get one back after division with the state. All finds from our leases this year are turned in to the Fisher center for preservation, and we won't see them again until division time. If I had a bunch of gold and silver laying around the house, I'd bring it. I have a few reales from Belize, a copper maravedis, spikes and iron rigging, pottery shards, ballast stones, etc. but that would hardly make an interesting booth for the public. :D
