Too Hot to Dig...

DM

Looks to me to be a larger version of my partial, with small owl, sitting on top of it. Took me awhile to find it as my eyes kept going to the lower, left hand corner. First impression was a bell with possible symbols in a band....so...maybe two caches, one large, one small. One of which belongs to the church?

Ah thank you casca and oddrock.

There is a lot one can see in this vignette casca, that is true.

I will keep my eye out for partials.

odd, I did not notice that bell so thanks. But you are likely correct about the religious influence. Well..I do not know for sure but the site gives me that impression for a few reasons.

It is on what I would consider a rather surprising route not where I would expect a route to be due to strong and successful Native defense activities.

Basically, it was no mans land for a long time.

Thanks again.

You are welcome. I have always enjoyed your posts.
I believe this to be another "I got a secret to tell"....or maybe an early version of "the Thinker"... :)

Wow..that is a tough one odd. As soon you start looking too hard, it disappears. Subtle in this age, prerhaps eroded. The eye looks interesting. I've often wondered if the T sticks such as you see there are remarking or just that old. I do not have any too show sadly. Those sticks could be stone though. Hmmm.

In this case I caused the "T" stick in the process of clearing away a lot of brush and trees in order to better see what I was being shown, and in order to let the sun shine where it should.

Welcome to the site, glad you enjoy it. Always feel free to mark up my pics as that is part of the fun. This is one of my favorite sites to just sit and view as it changes throughout the day... and the year. I believe I found the first part of the treasure when I discovered the site. I agree it has been used by many peoples numerous times.
I would change the name of my thread to "A Journey Through Spirit Canyon" if I knew how, as that would be more discriptive.

I have been following your posts from the start, and agree at least partially with most. I have not had the time to study all the information on all the links you have posted that I am not familiar with, but plan on it.
Thanks!

Hello Thom, one of the things that helped me in my quest is kinda like school, one subject at a time, jesuit priest just by its self is more than enough to cause a burn out in my pea burn so I started with drill holes (no marks carved on trees interest me because I feel that they are of KGC or worse a salted area) and looking for trails and yards, trails lead to yards, seems that a diamond is 2.5 miles ( league ) with 4 directions and will be in the or close to a yard, a triangle is found at the start of a trail and will be at or near a yard, the fighting fish is a good example of a trail that has 4 directions, a triangle that has a direction indicator should be used in a yard, most yards that I have seen are in a rectangle some as large 1000 feet X 600 feet and most will run East and West, trenches, rocks, and everything else that you can imagine

Sorry to see you delete your posts. I would like to see anything knew (new) from the archives you are willing to share. Sometimes you have to have a tough skin around here. Or be like a duck and and let the "rain" shed off your back. ;D

Oddrock;

Did you by any chance detect where the water is shedding off the ducks back? :coffee2:

Springfield,
just pull your chain a little when you pulled odd rocks about the Beatles..

factoid: a complete collection of the Beatles records in fair shape will bring in excess of $10,000
plus in todays market..so if 'granny' was a baby boomer and a rocker, look in her attic~!
if she graduated high school in 1964 or so , she has some beatles records somewhere before
they got damaged or stolen..

careful of what you disparage..lol

I view as a guy with a back pack on. You view as a camel. Both beasts of burden? Both maybe thinking, where do I go from here? Either way look for a confirmed sign and procede from IT.

By golly, you're right, rangler. It was way back last summer. At least I now know you're paying close attention to my posts, as you well should. Let's get more recent - how about addressing my comment today at 1:12 pm on the 'Jesuit Codes' thread. Thanks in advance.

i kno i darkened it up a bit but there seems to b a heart on the back end.

Brent,

After a field trip and further review, the heart does exist on the backside as you marked. (along with a somewhat verticle line) I have overlooked it hundreds of times.
That portion of the rock is conglomerate, and is an extremely difficult formation to carve anything into. It was done long enough ago that no tool marks currently show.
This is a good example of why I will never discourage anyone from marking my pics.
