Too Hot to Dig...

Oddrock:
Hey, no problem. If I was in YOUR boots, I'd much rather work in the "field" than play "tic tac dumb toe" on any forum. ;D

NOOoooow.............let's discuss that part you cut out in the upper right corner. :sign10:

oddrock, not much to add, just studying it closely. Recently found an empty hole., and it had somewhat similar rayed figure above it. I have to chuckle, its pretty bad when you are reverse engineering and STILL not quite sure what the trail signs mean..there being so many of them. And side trails...galore. Is it a hole..or was it a storage place or decoy..hmmm further investigation needed.

Thanks for posting so much.

SS'

The open upper right hand corner that looks like I wiped it out is the sky....photo of a sheer rock bluff.....not saying someone else did not cut it off...also not saying no group was here before 1700

I would consider those Spanish letters. Second choice, something roman. Odd there are not combined letters/numbers though.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Not all Sun/Shadow signs (or other types either) only show up between 10 am and 2 pm. What I would show next begins a few minutes after 8 am and is completely gone by 8:30 on June 20. I was Facing more or less East. The sun strikes the face of a man/with mustache first.

hey oddrock the rock to right looks like there 2 or three things . from sunup to sunset there will be shadows

They did love their mustaches at one time didn't they. I'm so excited! I hardly ever see 8 am, night owl that I am. Its a nice time of day, looks like. . 8) 8) 8)

On the right an owl but more of interest to me is the circled thing. If that is artificial, I've seen it one or 2 times before. I "think" one example was from the Supers.

On the right there, may be a mule, horse or mouse. If mule.. I believe it means something different than a horse. That right angle there looks like something particular that Twisted posted.

Anyway I am anxiously awaiting the progress of the sign. It would be so cool if during it all a shaft of light fell on what looks like a standing figure on a ledge back there.

Could it possibly be saying water - 100 vara - among other things? A white patch on the left rock..makes me speculate that. Though the face is somewhat reclining, I do not see why they would make it a sun sign for a campground....
Whoops back in a few and will post. Love the fat shadow padre down in the crevice surveying his domain.

odd, That is a fantastic monument.

To me, I see bunny, reclining lion or other animal. Black dog or hog. All on the left. Possible shadow heart on right. Possible miniature cache trowel on right.

The shadow padre down below could be construed as a helmet or climbing turtle or even a bell. But really, climbing turtles are rare in my experience.

The squared stuff, I was thinking, this sun sign only shows june 20th..yet it seems like a trail that would be reused.

I wonder if the squared area might tell us what is the best day to view things. Just a thought. I'm still enamored of the hypothesis that all the information you need to solve something will be there in most cases. Even if there is map. But hypothesis is all it is.

BTW.saw a witch, she was looking into a..hole.. of sorts.. in high terrain.

There are 3 other faces on the main rock. The ones on the left and right have head pieces and the one in the middle has a full beard and part of his left shoulder. He is facing to the left. There's a pair of owl ears on top of the headpiece of the right hand face.
There is a triangle or quadrangle on the left, in red, and that figure down below could be a Priest or a guard of some kind.
I'm thinking that the face on the left is actually a woman because of the way the hair sweeps down close to the ear area and the large, rounded headpiece.

That area MIGHT be an owl, but I'm not sure. There are some parts of the shadow that are cast by tree limbs. I played with the light and contrast all up and down the scales in PhotoShop Elements and this is the best version. It's still a little "iffy", but those faces sure came out more.

Thanks Guys n Gal for your observations.
If you allow for day light saving time the correct time this takes place is the 7 o'clock hour.
I believe the next pic is what we need to see.

He's laying overlapped on a darker shape of an owl. What's the approx. size of these pieces?

Profile jumped out at me from your very first post/picture.
Would have to be only 6 inches tall or so...
perhaps I see clouds....
