Too Hot to Dig...

I see three turtles. Anytime I have a triangle I look in the middle. Could be the trail splits also.

View from above "prop" rock under turtles butt. (pointer)

Hi Oddrock. I may be looking at it wrong. But the prop rock has a danger sign to it.

Casca,

I am always? alert to danger.

I think Dsty will like this photo. It is the last turtle's butt taken from behind.

Yes the turtle's rear is of interest in that it shows two directions forward and reverse, something on it Will tell how far and more than likely it will be measured in cordells, probably around 400 / 600 feet, the last one I found was a profile of a bear, rock was about 40 inches high and could only be seen from the west, it was 10 inches wide and sticking in the ground on its edge, it was leaving ( going south ) from some drill holes going to some other drill holes at the fighting fish site. I didn't follow the trail tho cause its easier to drive the county roads and go the distance indicated by the diamond or 1/2 diamond and use the time / effort in a more productive manner, GPS / County Maps, seem to work the best. Find a site look for drill holes that's placed on an angle and then use the angled holes as you would use a tent stake to the top of a tent to form a triangle, if you can locate a triangle layed out in rocks then use the cordells or fractions of them you will need the measurements and directions to use with the angled drill holes

Oh yea good photo, the 4 directions on the turtles rear, should show the 4 directions East, West, North, South, 2.5 miles, that turtle may be in the center of your site that has the triangle that you can measure, get the distance from, the site that may have the 2 symbols may be west 600 feet or and may be 330 / 335 degrees, the fighting fish showed 4 directions and worked out great, It feels good to be able to go from site to site without all the confusing trail markers, This theory may only work at storage area's not in mining areas, most should be in the neighborhood of 120 pounds of gold from what I can gather, two men can carry. Good post Thanks

Well this girl will be studying those pics a lot. Dsty..you always blow me away and open new thoughts.

Oddrock, so glad you posted more pics because the original one had me confused. It seemed to point one way but I
"saw" a duckhead on it pointing the opposite way. And maybe a tunnel symbol toward the back there. (Not marked)

It is starting to make better sense now. Thanks to you both.

The Last three views of one turtle is an example of why it is hard if not impossible to interpert the complete meaning of a sign/symbol from only one picture. What may to some appear to only be a fractual in a rock can be a "factual". Confirmation is the key. Last photo, the cut out notch in the lower, left hand corner is one. The crude "cross" with one upward turned arm on my last pic is confirmed by the same on a nearby rock....tells me I chose the correct direction.

Hi Kim, do you remember the end of the rock that I posted a couple of years ago that had an armadillo and the lamb's head and the end ( butt ) looked like a book divided into 4 parts, that worked great as a couple of others did also. seems that the start of the trail will be a triangle ( use the sharp end as a bow Thom's post and explanation shows how to work it for direction and as we all know that 1/2 of a diamond is 1.25 miles or 1/2 of a league ) when you find the last cache or the end of the trail you will find a profile going back and can only be viewed from one side. so far they seem to be stacked 5 high and 5 wide or 10 miles square as shown in the Masons symbols in Washington D.C.

Dsty

Thank you for all of your input. Some of it does fit.

Oddrock;
You called this photo "the front of the last turtle". It looks more like a bear, walking away. The area I circled looks like a bear's head, looking to the right, quartering rear.

Wouldn't all this mean your on the trail, keep going, and look to the right? Im talking about odd rocks post about the bear.

oh boy dsty, i do so remember that "book" and the other things, still look at them from time to time hoping illumination will come. I wanted so badly to provide some useful info. Looks like you figured out. Good to know and glad you did. Perseverance and bushwhacking paid off. Plus maybe a nice clearing to have a picnic in now!

Thanks oddrock for the explanation it will help a lot. I know one of the shorter trails I've been following had some confusing things on it. Will look for pics and post if it fits!

Need to add to title: and too many rattlesnakes.

I would have taken a picture but I was too busy grabbing gear and climbing out of the area.

it was only lunch casa { kidding} i carry a cattle stick 6 ft fiberglass almost half in dia to push or wack em make a strong walking stick to

Bill

Yes it does look like a head on the right looking down. The photo in question was taken standing in front of the turtle in post 376 , facing what would be the turtles face.....I agree it does not look like a turtle from this angle.....it does not look like a turtle from the butt view I posted either....hope this clears it up for everyone.

It was the only flat spot to rest. I literally have to throw my walking stick down the mountain when I go back down, its pretty steep. Problem was I needed to get to that side of the mountain. I couldn't see the bugger and didn't know where he was at. I didnt stick around to find out.

My real fear is all the rocks I have to step over on the way down. I know they dont mean it, unless your around a den. Thanks goodness it was still cool and early on the morning.. There is supposed to be a vault in that area, and I couldn't crawl up into a cave right there to find it.

Im noticing a lot of animal boroughs where there should be something.
