For instance, property crimes - even in jolly old England - are not considered "violent crimes". That requires a victim, not a window.

Secondly, you are NOT a citizen as all Brits are "SUBJECTS of the crown" (may have gotten the wording wrong, but SUBJECTS is correct). Sorry, but the truth is the truth.

Remember, monarchies . . . even figure head monarchies . . . only have subjects, not citizens.

I can say I'm white, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm not. I'm a Native American. Yet, from a legal standpoint, I'm negro. Why? Changes in language. I'm still Native American, they can't change that, but the law's definitions allows them to call me whatever they want at it suits them.

It's similar with being a "British subject" or "British citizen". Depends on what suits your leaders at the time.

OK...now put up the stats on all homicides...not just gun homicides. You see, when you control guns the firearm related murders drop, but all other murders go way up. The reason for that is simple.....the normally defenseless people (small, female, young, weak,) etc. have no defense against the larger, tougher, male antagonists, so they get murdered more often, but with clubs, knives, fists, etc.. Also, since the UK government wants to keep controlling guns, they probably skew the stats. remember what some guy said..."there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Ok guys here is the OPEN truth not Concealed numbers! Homicide is the killing of a human being. Now, with these gun crimes you see suicide is counted, as it is the killing of a human being. also counted is where the victim of a violent crime PROTECTED themselves and killed a human being. therefore of course our "NUMBERS" are Higher as people can have a gun to kill THEMSELVES with,,,and then an innocent victim of a knife attack can kill the suspect....Those in Europe don't have the optition to carry a handgun to KILL the bad guy and protect themselves.therefore the knife attack results in a stabbed to death victim and NO COUNTING of a GUN CRIME...So you see NUMBERS can be misleading!!!!

Does this answer why the firearm homicide rate is much lower per capita in the UK than the US? That seems to be the question posed by this thread. Does anyone have an opinion.
