Hi. What tree sap is that?
The Maple trees, first is the sugar then the black maples, but all will produce sap for maple sugar.

The other options are Birch trees that start producing sap near the end of the maple sap producing cycle.
Birch trees are 60 gallons to 1 gallon of syrup.
Then there's the Black Walnut tree sap which is another option.
It has a nutty, earthy, flavor. A 5 oz. bottle of pure black walnut syrup can be $35.00

According to what I have read, this is a list of trees that can be tapped.
Maples, Hickory, Pecan, Sweet Birches, Sycamore, Walnut, Birch trees.

Pouring 🌧 now, the winds haven't started yet.
Has a great day yesterday outside.
Things that started right up after the winter.
Big tractor, dump truck, skid steer.
Took the snowplow off the Tundra, the sack of sand and the large rock out of the back.

Got the weeping hoses hooked up in the hoop house and throughly watered it for planting.
The frost is coming out quickly as I found out going to the field.
Didn't make it to the area I was heading to. 🤣
So there it sits a skid bag of sand and the rock.

I did manage to tap a few trees late about 4 pm. By 8.30 the 9 buckets produced about a 1.5 gallons by the time we walked the Max.
So I filtered the sap and now we have it for drinking.
So loaded with goodness.
Sounds delicious

I know of the maple, but never knew the others produced anything, that's interesting. You said you drink it. So not just syrup but a drink too?

Drinking just that sap us really great. 2-4% sugar content.

Some studies suggest that maple sap water can replenish skin cells, leaving your skin soft and renewed with nutrients like calcium, iron and magnesium that can penetrate deeply treating inflammation and unwanted blemishes.
Immune Support:
The antioxidants in maple sap can play a positive role in supporting the immune system.
Digestive Health:
The prebiotics in maple water can contribute to a healthy digestive system, potentially alleviating symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders.

For some odd reason I have a hankering for some pancakes and maple syrup this morning 🤔
Oddly enough that’s exactly what I’m having this morning. Made with fresh ground whole wheat flour, fresh from the coop eggs, and (frozen) wild blueberries. Hard to beat.

Quite amazing.
First I have ever heard such a thing.

Bat Out Of Hell was not released on this day – in fact, the Meat Loaf album came out in October 1977 – but today marked the start of its legend.
Bat Out Of Hell's success came slowly. Four years in the making, the album was turned down by CBS and Warners and eventually released on a subsidiary of Epic - and even Epic weren't convinced. Radio refused to play it.
But on this day, in 1978, Bat Out Of Hell began a 416-week run on the UK album charts, 6 months after the album's release. Why? Because British music TV show The Old Grey Whistle Test aired a live clip of the band performing the nine-minute title track.
The response was so overwhelming, they screened it again the following week. The album went in the UK charts – and didn't leave.
In the US, the record company smelled money and, riding on this momentum, got Meat Loaf on Saturday Night Live on 25 March, 1978.
Eventually every track on the album became a hit single and the album became a phenomenon, selling an estimated 47 million copies worldwide. It was also the most profitable release in history, beating even Michael Jackson's Thriller, which cost ten times as much to make. It has sold more copies than any album by The Beatles or Led Zeppelin.
Guitar player (and producer): Todd Rundgren

A Little Oregon History You May Not Have Known!
Pronto Pup, The Little Oregon Coast Hot Dog Stand That Invented The Corn Dog.
The Pronto Pup was invented in Rockaway Beach, Oregon by husband-and-wife team George and Versa Boyington in the late 1930s. The Boyingtons ran a small hot dog stand on the beach, selling them to tourists and locals.
While vending concessions in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, George Boyington hit a breaking point over Labor Day weekend in 1939 when the rain came and ruined his stock of hot dog buns. While feeding the scraps of his ruined buns to the seagulls, he began thinking of ways he could cook buns on the spot, as they were needed.
From there, George Boyington developed the Pronto Pup, a deep-fried solution that was portable for vendors and pleasing to taste. He named it the “Pronto Pup” for the speed of the cooking process. The Pronto Pup made its big commercial debut from a fountain shop window owned by the Boyingtons in Portland, Oregon. Right from the start, the tasty treat was a crowd favorite: in September 1941, over 15,000 Pronto Pups were consumed at the Pacific International Livestock Exposition.
While a few other places across the country claim to be the birthplace of the corn dog, no known claims predate the Boyingtons’ Rockaway Beach Pronto Pup
