Good morning all. Bitterly cold with ice and snow outside this morning. The sun isn't up yet so I don't know how bad it is. But we were outside yesterday and heard and saw big tree branches snapping off under the weight of the ice. There's a really big cedar tree in the front yard that was leaning pretty good, and with the soggy ground, I'm not sure it will remain standing. Sunrise will tell the tale...

It will be all internal combustion today around here . The Kubota and Ranger will roll! With the powdery snow I’ll be able to use the gas leaf blower for clean up. So today I need both 2-cycle and 4-cycle gas plus diesel for my tractor. All electric would be a joke!🤣

Fortunately the sunrise reveals only snow -- no more downed trees. Though we can add another to the leaning cedar list. Hopefully they can stay standing. (They're actually leaning over, not just bent from snow and ice, but the entire trunk is leaning, from the ground up.)

Mornin all.
Easy does it in the rough weather sites. You have the rest of your life to deal with it.
Don't make it the last of your life fighting it.
(So I tell myself.)

Cold here and stiff breeze. Storm across the country remains South.
We'll continue below freezing for some days yet.
I should chase groceries today.

We keep our pantry full anyway, so it's always a bit amusing to see the craziness at Wal-Mart every time there's a gloomy forecast. Does nobody keep bread, milk, or toilet paper on hand?

I put a pot of beans on to make chili later. (This ain't Texas, we can put beans in chili...)
