THE Random Chat Thread - AKA "The RCT" - No shirt or shoes required - Open 24 / 7

Last year I was having never ending ear ache in my left which became exacerbated with noise, ie amplified guitars.
So I go to a ear, nose, and throat specialist, "doctor , doctor, Mr MD, can you tell me what's ailing me"
"He said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes indeed, what you really need" and rammed that swab up my left nostril, rooting around inside my head,

I caught your musical hint ECS :icon_thumleft:

Sis, my prayers for your dad. It's a double whammy. His age makes him a target for Covid, plus the recent loss of his wife has to have weakened him. we will pray for his health and return to the normal ( :icon_scratch: ) life. :notworthy:

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez Jim ! Unless those are not recent finds, you should post them on a thread by themselves. Several of those look "Banner " worthy :dontknow:

We get broiled in the summer and flash frozen in the winter. I've been out at night when it's been -15 here.

-15 ? That is where I have my air conditioning set at.

See RR, the temperature is all a relative thing. When it is hot, you visit your relative up north, when the temperature is cold, you visit your relative in the south. :laughing7:

Good morning

Morning pepperj

Good morning mateys!

Long story...

My dad got sick. My daughter freaked out over it. Mr WD checked on him while I had rugrats. Rugrats are pirates at heart. Took them on my paddle boat SS Grandma’s Frigate. They loved it! But, my 3yr old granddaughter, who cannot speak legible words yet, cussed me up one side and down the other when I took her off the ship! Oh she’s the real piratess!
Anyway I had to go tend to my dad. 101 temperature and ,ahem , “stomachache flu“symptoms. Watched over him last 2 days. He’s good as of yesterday. My daughter and his neighbor, “Those are also Covid symptoms!!!!!” Me, I am thinking, “No $#!+ ! Dumb butts! What am I supposed to do? We just lost my mom, his wife. Am I supposed to just neglect him? He’s freaking 89 ! Not sick enough to go to hospital, too sick to take him to one of those drive through testing sites. And for what point? Either it is or it ain’t, but I am still taking care of him!” I swear, people have lost rationality over this crap!
There’s more, but I will spare you.
So, yea, overload here.

And now I wait to see if/when Mr WD and/or I get sick.

I'm so sorry to hear that your Dad has a stomach bug Missy, I'm not sure how I would handle it if my 86 year old Mom got sick during these times. :sadsmiley:
My advice would be to have him tested just to be sure, we seem to forget that folks are still going to get sick with other flu-like virus's.

Please keep us all posted on how your Dad's doing.

Dave

Morning rook, ARC & Jim! :hello:

Taking my daughter on-the-road with me today, she needs some Daddy-time and to get out of the house!
We'll be in Cobourg, Lakefield, Peterborough & Lindsay... in that order. :laughing7:

I have to pick up a replacement period door lock from a vintage builders supply in Cobourg.
I had to make an appointment for 9am due to 'small business social distancing' protocols here in Ontario.

Check these guys out, I've bought a lot of great stuff for my c1928 house here.

Have a good road trip today Dave with your daughter.:icon_thumright:

Thinking why don't you bring her out on the weekends to hunt with you-quality time together and she can dig the holes. Sounds reasonable doesn't it?:dontknow:

I should contact them to unload part of my inventory of stuff I amassed up at the shop. Gee Dave I could probably given you a lockset similar to that one. Have a few kicking around in the world of Jim's hoarding. :laughing7:

I just got the "I want to be a picker again" bug, looking at the prices they want for the inventory.

"Oh snap out of that dream world you silly old fart!"

I'm sure there's a few 1000 board feet of reclaimed they'd drool over.

But-but-but I have time-:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Thanks very much for the advice on bringing her with me when I'm detecting Jim.
The only problem is... she finds it too difficult to cut the plugs and text her friends at the same time. :icon_scratch:

My challenge today is going to be getting her to put down her phone and leave the truck. :laughing7:

Is there anything to find in that hay field you had cut yesterday?
