THE Random Chat Thread - AKA "The RCT" - No shirt or shoes required - Open 24 / 7

Leaving tomorrow at 2:30, but before that I'm going to be bidding on something that has me a nervous wreck. A M/42 cKL 62 stamped Stalhelm, with original liner, chinstrap, and split pins. The only problem is a small smattering of postwar paint applied to the shell, but this should come off easily with patience and acetone soaked cotton balls. Original paint seems intact, and it looks like Apple Green paint from the pictures. Starting bid is $185. My limit is $250, so I doubt I'll win, but we'll see. It even has a hand painted (original to the helmet) number "77" on the inside below the liner, most likely from the 77th infantry division, German Wehrmacht. The 77th was ordered to defend occupied Normandy from the Allies, though obviously we know who won that battle. This makes sense because a large number of M/42s were distributed through the ranks of the Western Front in early 1944.

Will a 62 fit your head? l.o.l..

On the right day , with the right (few and not too enthused) bidders , you're in about the right price range.
(Condition /provenance ect. all subject to verification...)

IMG_0145.jpg fixing to make some noise real soon. Hard to believe it but we made a gutiar from a tree that grew across the street from me !! The very first log I ever cut with the chainsaw mill....and now its about to get strung up !! Well....build guitar is now scratched off the bucket list !!

...
But BOY! When she wakes up, with that hangover and the ship starts rockin' and rollin'. And...that hammock starts swaying back & forth and back & forth and back & forth...
Are you saying when the hammock starts rockin' and rollin' don't come knockn' and callin'!

Whoop it on us bart. A beauty of a finish. What neck? Rosewood?

Bart,

Here's hoping you know how to play the guitar.....we wouldn't want the neighbors to string you up for making an ungodly racket....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

AAARRRRGGHHH!

Ms Beeps, I know you gave fair warning about rugrat visits, but these ones, these ones had to swim in the pond! And we found a dead bird in there! And they wouldn't get out! No no! The almost 7 yr old says, " I get it out for you grandma." AAAhhhhhggghhh! He touched it! Then there was the fight to shower all the sand off in the barn shower. Finally to the house for a real bath. They only have a shower at their apartment, so my house is the only place they get a real bath. I had to change the water out 3 times! Dirty pond scum rugrats! Then I have to fight to get them out of that. My back is killing me. Oh and they drank my mango juice for my rum punch recipe! I barely survived.

I am going to bed! :sleepy2::sleepy2:

Good night, buccaneers.

Looks like a Fender maple neck to go woth those Fender telecaster pickups and bridge.

You got it ECS...maple it is. I have to fish in the morning so I didnt get to see it or hear it yet...since it was strung up !!
