Dave,

The best inspiration is picking something fresh from the garden and eating it. I never knew a cucumber could actually have a sweet taste compared to the cardboard stuff we buy during the winter.

Beautiful looking gardens Bill, it's definitely a labour of love isn't it.

My only problem now is... how to inspire my wife to get out there and do the gardening? :laughing7:

Good morning ARC, rook & pepperj!

I completely agree Bill, nothing tastes better then something you've taken the time to plant and nurture until it's harvested.

The problem I have is, all of my spare time is devoted to detecting... priorities buddy! :laughing7:

Good morning Bill and ANTIQUARIAN

Morning Bill
Your gardens are shaping up well.
We did wood chips between all the rows this year.
It was a lot of work but it will be worth it in the end.
8in. deep of chips will block the sun. In the big garden plot I row covered with cardboard.
Cutting holes in for seed and plants.
Time sucking adventure.:laughing7:

Oh if I had all your spare time I would donate mine.:laughing7:

pepperj,

Well this year I'm using dried grass clippings as mulch around a lot of the plants it should break down during the season and give added nutrition to the plants and soil.

As long as it's not living.
Especially around berries/fruit as the grass roots drive down the plant roots to a depth where they don't get the surface nutritional needs.

Good morning crew mates !!
