Good morning all. Been up since 3:30am EST. My old dachshund has been hacking around this time every morning past few days. Had him at the vet couple weeks ago for itchy ears and occasional hacking. Turned out to be minor infection. Was treated with a tube of med in each ear to nip it . Also was given allergy med. He’s not scratching/shaking head as much but the hacking has increased. No fever, still playful, no problem eating or drinking, no problem on other end either. He’s 15. Other than grey in the face, reduced sight, barely can hear and considering he was near death a couple years ago with some kinda funk, he is doing great for his age. Loves to play... still strong physically.

My vet sent email... reduced hours and parking lot drop off for emergency and ill pets only I’m trying to decide if I should request a revisit.

Probably gonna call to talk to vet if possible in a couple hours. Problem if vet administers more new in ears if the infection is present, I’m not to bathe him.... I’ve been washing and wiping down/quarantining everything else like amazon packages and anything touched by others.

And there will be a big plate local critter...which ever one wasn't the fastest crossing the road.
