Older F body cars, like my Firebird, mount the torque arm to the tailshaft housing, which is a relatively weak, cast-aluminum area. New engine will be overpowering the mount, potentially leading to the tailshaft breaking off the transmission.
So....... I installed a torque arm relocation kit!

Does this also reduce the frame twist from the torque?
Seen it happen in lots of backyard building of muscle cars.
Buddy next door had a Dart Swinger with a slant 6 ( father's car)
Well we all helped Leo change the family ride into a faster vehicle.
Midified 340 with a 4 speed.
First time out windshield split from lower passenger corner right diagonally to drivers top corner.
Fix fast with replacement before father sees damage.
2nd time out cracked again :dontknow:
Still can hear the old Finlander cursing the stupidity of another gearhead #5 son.🤣

I'm giving it some serious thought on doing a 3 day hunt.
Takes 1.5 hrs to the multiple site location each way.
My thoughts on this is just hotel it for 2 nights. 30 minutes of travel a day instead of 3 hrs of traveling.
4 hrs extra hunting over 2 days. Less pre/post getting ready.
No chores
Okay 👍 👌

The place is around the gold coin site. Except it's planted in grains at the moment.

But there's 15 other sites all within a square mile, that I have free range on now.

There's another dozen yet to be released by the one landowner.
Roads are named after these 2 family owners.

Yup it seems like a plan in my head-what possible thing could be wrong in this thinking plan.😁
Now to execute this hatched plan.....🤔

It helps and combined with SFC (sub frame connectors) makes a huge difference!
GM should have installed versions of these as the third generation Firebird/Camaro had a sub frame and V8's. They should have known better! the third gen cars were considered to be one of the best handling cars made in that time period. But having V8's they should have known souping them up was going to be an option. When the LS1 came out they were and are the most popular modern resto mod option. This fixes frame flex....pretty much tells it to F-off!!

Subframe connectors, tubular rear control arms, on-the-car adjustable panhard bar, and torque arm relocation kit with a adjustable tubular torque arm.
