I would never pay the 5500 asking price as I can build close to that quality and own 12 I think? guitars that axe is wicked though!!!!!

I'm not into motorcycles at all but it's ok reading the enthusiastic about them. Just today a guy was killed in Orlando. Someone cut him off that didn't see him. Too many ways to die, I don't need to stack the deck.
It's not "If" its "When & how bad." Still, it's a choice and everyone knows the risks.

I Understand NM.... we take risks even on the job site. I'll still always ride something with 2 wheels, because it's a life like other things. Hard to get out of your blood. I've had my share of close calls though, but yeah if it's your time then it's time. I won't take us down this discouraging trail any further as it can be bumpy, but I am however less excited these days to ride road for the part of being frustrated at today's damn distracted drivers. Blame technology for that. 🏍️

if you're a bike rider, you know how it doesn't take long before that wind resistance kills your stamina. This dude is a strip cruiser for sure. Nothing aerodynamic here

Good evening xx hope you are all well and we don’t need to post bond for any of you after a couple of days being in doors!! I was excited to try out my new headphones today…. But alas, himself must of shopped at ‘Dodgy Detectors’ for them…. As they don’t work…. We paired them successfully but the only emit a mouse like squeak….. 🤔……. I won’t find no treasure wearing those I told him….. 🤔 I’m also thinking that might have been his plan!!!

I have some testing to do, also some arrow cutting. I like the aluminum arrows the best but different fletching, carbon fiber or not... I am going to try indoor testing, shoot from the shop since we have god awful rain and wind, storms from hell!

I've been building my own arrows for 45 years. A lot of satisfaction in that.

I am still in awe by your bikes MXrat.... this was an off frame resto, paint and all? what's the chrome canister over block? Was this Yamha color? Old Bob "Hurricane" Hannah was an Idol as a kid. Think he rode Yams back in the 70s?

All my restos are frame off and usually paint. That chrome thing above the crankcase is the air filter. The carb is actually inside that right side engine cover, along with the oil injection pump (first bike to have that).

Mmm. That's a hard one from my perspective to answer. Some of his findings are not what we have experienced here in Australia with them.
The best of the VLFs id go the Garrett 24k but its best performance comes from using the little 6" concentric coil. Effectively your detecting with a 3" coil as the sweet spots in that size area in the coil.
Its still good with the DD though and id choose it over the others.
The PIs. Like I said we didn't see the performance equivalents here as he has there. The all best here on the small stuff is the 6000. The SDC is great on it too but won't match the 6000 on depth for larger stuff.
The Axiom hasn't really competed with anything here and gained a following. That may be due to our ground conditions though and it may well perform there better than here. He says the Axiom is competition for the 5000 and better on the small gold. Not here it isn't. Probably better with the stock coils on the 5000 but put an Evo on it and it doesn't compete.
The still and absolutely overall all rounder is the GPX5000. Its been around a while but still rules the roost, even a commercial coil maker I know agrees.
What the article didn't mention was the 5000 with evolution coils fitted. These are spiral wound and up the sensitivity and depth greatly. Its nothing to get bits down to less than a 20th of a gram, 30th would be capable for it.
But, it has great depth too on larger gold.
The thing annoying about it though is it has a large battery that is carried in a bum type bag and connected by a curly lead. Also wired headphones are a must to get the best out of it.
The 7000 is a different beast, cross between a PI and Vlf best describes it. I had one and it finds some different gold types than typical PIs can get. I noticed a jump in spongy and spiky gold types when I had it. I much preferred the 5000 with the Evos so sold it.
Again, the findings in the article are different from us here and that may well be the ground type like I said. So im not knocking his findings there, but they are very different here in our opinions.
