Depending on the site for depth digging.
In England I used to dig down darn near 2ft on some large signals, once a day.
(Thinking that it might a hoard)
Lots of broken plows discovered. 🤣

dang that's deep. But I guess a large piece of Iron would lead you that far :icon_thumleft:

The Minelab PIs here with the big coils from the Sd 2000 upwards, oh get outta here. You'd dig things to 3 foot deep in rock hard ground. Then find a bit of junk a miner had discarded in a shallow hole after he'd dug. Some were deeper using 18 to 24" coils. You couldn't keep it up. It wasn't physically anyone could keep doing. Even today, using a PI here you can spend an entire day with pick and crowbar, I did it, for a horseshoe. It ruins you. I did as long as I physically could but never found a nugget deeper than a real 18 inches. I believe some did with monster's, but my deepest was 18" for 9oz.
What im saying is, a PI will get iron deeper than gold.
