Mrs 🫑had a old friend coming for a meet up.
🌶 did a stage left and went detecting.
Clean truck-no gloves.
Headphones died.
First time I've used a speaker on a detector in over 40 yrs.
What a $hit show trying to hear tones.
Got a new permission but left as it was to near the road/railway.
So I drove to a cut patch that runs through the uncut field.
1852 and a 1854 Half Penny Tokens.

Nice!
interesting change up without a headset...

I can honestly say that folks that don't use headphones will miss targets, or dig unnecessary ones.
After breaking a cord in a chair wheel's spokes on a steep hill climb (it's an art) I tried going without a headset. I'd about stabbed the cord more than once too.
The noise without a headset was distracting. And confused me sometimes somehow (not really a difficult task) about what little I was trying to null.
And the sounds changed of course. The occasional deep "peep of mystery" wasn't being noted the same either.

A couple members mentioned Rapoo wireless headsets, and using a volume control between detector and transmitter to improve sound quality.
That brought me back to a headset and those deeper peeps sometimes again.
Cheap like most my rig . But successfully rigged. Some plastic wire ties involved. Even harmed perhaps!

Wait.. Why? I'm a gold prospector so I honestly don't know.
The program that I'm working with is really good at picking out finds in iron.
Except certain iron will ring up as a high tone.
Though there is an iron sound on either side of the high tone.
Most are easy to hear, but there's the ones that are hard to hear.( Meaning the iron grunt)
Headphones are a must. I dug some nails, chunk of iron.
Passed on some targets everything is 8-10".

Makes sense. I'm using a Whites prizm IV not sure if headphones would help!
